The Xball people would actually encourage anyone to start up an Xball league. You are free to use the format.
To the point as ever Jay :D

Okay then if its free ro use the format... lets ave it :)

Yay!

The thing is that the minds behind Xball would love nothing better than to see Xball spread like a bad rash, which they won't achieve by charging piles of cash.
They are fully aware that as good as everybody that has played Xball will want to play it again, and as such it is in their best interest to see as many "little leagues" pick up on it.

Makes perfect sense to me :)

Has anywhere actually setup a league outside of NXL/EXL or Div one then as a bench mark to how it went?

Cost to the players maybe an issue as paint consumption will go through the roof, for the non sponsored teams this might put X ball out of reach.

Actually the aussies had it right!!!!!
I have just read the open Xtreme rules ,and the format could work in the UK,3 x 3min games, teams change ends after each game,5 players plus 2 subs, coach and pit crew.
Game time is kept by the ultimate judge.penaltys are the same as normal X-Ball.
This format is a shortened version of X-Ball which would allow teams to afford the game ,all be it in an altered state, and would also be exciting to watch and play.
