OK here we go
If say an X-Ball tourny was put on how many UK teams could or would enter???
We are not talking experienced x-ball teams here, because i feel, that there are a lot of Am,Nov teams out there that would like to try the format but so far have not really been given the chance .
How many fields would you need to put on a tourny ???
can you hire scoreboards ??
are there alternatives to electronic score boards ???
Would it need to be a two day event or could you run a tourny over one day ??? on say a knock out format.
If a tourny was a viable idea i am sure it could happen,it may take a fair bit of organizing but i cant see any reason why after carefull planning it could not be done .
So over to all of you to either shoot the idea down in flames,Or come up with positive comments and maybe it can get off the ground to run a domestic X-Ball tourny ????

apart from the mentioned 100k above which i dnt no anything bout...

you could try and hire a cricket field, they have those manual score boards dont they. plus its flat :) dnt no wat they wud say bout messing up the ground tho. maybe an idea for the end of the cricket season. then you would only need an electronic timer whch is bound to be cheaper than a full board!

also the whole cost of paint and so on wud b a big drain o nthe teams so mayb we could come up with a shortened version? i no it kind of defeats the object of the gaem but still would theoretically be cheaper.

i no my team would love to giv it a go just the cost is a little too much unless it would be lowered and the sponsors could help us out :D

jus a few thoughts but as i said i have no idea bouttht 100k thing so its all probably balls :D

Somehow I can't see any cricket club let you chew up their carefully tended pitch and cover it with paintballs.

But sounds like a good idea.

I think the 100K bit is just for a sanctioned tourny with results going forward to positional standings.
As this idea involves a domestic tourny, which i dont think would need to be sanctioned, the 100k thing would not be involved.

thts y we would do it at the end of the cricket season...whenever tht is :D

i imagine if we offered them enough money and explained to them the idea of slide mats and so on we could persuade them :p plus if anyone is tht bothered about it all im sure they wudn mind helpin tidy up a lil bit .... LOL

i think alot of teams wqould struggle as you need at least 12 players + 3 pit crew
how bout a kind of pa cup where a team represents its town/city, u can then have mixed teams instead of one team with too few players.... im sure carlisle would be able to get 12 and a bigger pit crew than 3

o n yeh how bout we have it in the north so the southerners travel up here for once :D

how about south midlands ;)

although thats a good idea to use town names, it defeats the object of letting teams try the format out, for instance, in Colchester there is Redz UK and 1/2 Jaguar Teams, and us (jags XS) are not as good as the other teams so wouldnt get to play it

I think you still have to pay the 100k just to call it x-ball and use the format from what I have read on the PA league forums.

yeh uv got a point could have a mixture, ie teams that have enough players can play as there team name ie jags colchester or something, other teams with not enough players can unite...lol...and be a new team or play as a team with guests from around their area. plus ppl who could not afford to play but wtd to take part could be guest bitches :p

anyhoo 100k :(
