Your bias is showing. :) The top Novice teams look forward to it 'cus it gives them a chance to see where they are. (And they have little worry about missing the cut.) It's the nominal teams, or Novs hoping to make the semis that don't want any part of the better teams despite what they tend to say. The lowest Nov ranks thing it's cool to play Pros but they don't have the experience or the expectation to succeed anyway so that's part of the "adventure" for them.
Over the last two or three years the best Nov teams, if they stayed together, have moved up.

Something occured to me while I was reading the above posts...
Is anyone making a note of all these ideas and solutions or are they just going to disappear into the mists of the forums.

It seems that everyone has something to say, and alot of it makes sense but I haven't heard wether anyone has compiled it all and presented it to the Millennium commitee.

Afterall, it's they who will make the final decisions and I'm positive that any input from the customers they are trying to serve would be greatly appreciated.

I think we should all remember that forums are forums and not a direct line to "El Presidente".

True, but do you think the Millennium committe will be able to do anything about drowning N-Sync and Heresay? If only they could... ;)

Valid point... but we know Niall and Alvaro and Magued read these boards. We also know there are people here that are close to them, maybe some one like that ;) hint hint should compile the thoughts and present em? or just ask them to take a look at relevant threads?

Good point.

I may be a total naive idiot but I compiled a lot of the ideas discussed about new rules, better enforcement and reffing in general and sent them to Niall, Chuck, Lane Wright, Bill Cookston and the X-ball people. So far I received one reply, from Niall who said he thought the ideas were good.

Have no idea whether these people really read their e-mail or not. I'm sure it depends on who sends the suggestions and how well formulated they are.

But I am ambitious, persistent and stubborn when I get set on fighting for positive change even if I don't have the best connections.

I do suspect that at least some of the key people read at least some of the more interesting threads. There are some on this thread as I write.;)

Players talk, and they've got good ideas. If you're lucky to know someone on the Millenium Committee then you can voice these opinions, and get your ideas heard.

This forum is a good place to start, there's a lot of people on this board who make decisions for the Millenium Committee. Maybe a Sticky on this forum for Millenium Sugestions would be useful?

I seem to remember some talk of a Player's committee for the Millenium Series, maybe we're ready for something like that?

Something the Millenium Committee could do, is to make available some format for players in the series to put their comments, criticisms, and suggestions forward.

One thing to remember though, is that just because something seems like a good idea, it dosn't always mean that it's practicle to implement, or in everyone's best interest.

Those that are connected...

Manike. I don't know about the N-Sync thing (although the concept sounds great) but beleive me I have tried mate. The problem with being connected, is that alot of what you say is taken as conversations between mates. Not naming names here but certain people have the knack of appearing to listen while actually thinking about what they are going to have for dinner;)

We all try our best but at the end of the day this game is run by ordinary people from lots of very different backgrounds. Trying to get them all to think in unison and in the same direction is gonna be tough.

It's always hard to break the old routine...

For what its worth, I can see next season being the best yet. As long as decisions are made with careful considerstion for the longevity of Paintball and not rushed in an effort to please everyone, the growth and improvement of the game is assured.

I for one, can't wait...:D

Searching for the pro-tour....:S
RE Am B

A bit late getting into this thread but a few words from the bottom of the divisions, whatever we're gonna be called!

The idea of a rookie group is all good, but having played our first Millenium at Crystal Palace last year I feel that playing the pro-teams is productive.

We arn't talking about novice teams at their local field facing the likes of aftershock, GZ or whoever of the "old" pro-teams will still be playing sevens rather than X-Ball. The novice teams playing should surely be aspiring to be a part of the biggest tourneys in Europe. Therefore to be one of the best teams in europe for their division.

In september we met 'Lanche and lasted 3.5 minutes, next pro-team we play, we're gonna last five!

Playing the big teams gives novices a benchmark, something to test their new skills on and targets to aim for.
