Taken from the Campaign Cup website:

Listening to the demands of players we have sought the finest High Pressure Air System in Europe. Combining the knowledge and skills of H PAC services from the UK, with the ultimate compressors from Bauer (Germany) players will get a perfect air fill every time. With sixteen 4500 psi lines and eight 3000 psi lines the queues will be the smallest ever seen at a paintball tournament

the most important thing to avoid queues in air filling (this year in toulouse, there were none, except the first day in the morning, this were terrible) is to open the air filling station the day before the tournamet, to allow all the players fill their tanks, and let the stuff check the date and the limits of the air systems...

I think the "selfservice" system is ok, it works fine for my and my team, the air filling were really fast.
but the question here is: you are in a tournament, you want to safe time, what is the best: the fastest filling,(better for running a tournament) or a slower filling, (better for the systems)...

Good Idea Neyzan - opening the fill stations the day before and a bit later during the tournement (we went to fill our bottles after our last game on the Friday, only to find they had packed up) would help queues I'm sure

 arrrrghhhhhhhhh

Its not even an option or at least shouldn't be!! There is no way on gods earth that we should be flash filling. Its a simple case of Health and Safety. unless we want to see more case's like Iains!!

NeyZan,
Now you do seem to have missed the point a bit, firstly the fill rigs used so far in the MS have had no filters on them so allowing metal shards, grease and crap into peoples air system causing lots of problems.

Also the flash fill isn't a choice. . .you just pressed the button and hey presto 4.5k instanteously dumped into your bottle. This is dangerous . . it put untold stress on bottles and regs etc. Incomparison no diver in his right mind would fill a diving bottle in the same manner most actually submerge there tank in cold water whilst filling to ensure a perfect fill. Why should we put our own safety at risk just because some people can't wait for a few minutes get on a fill station??

The service which is frequently referenced (HPAC) firstly has filtered air and also has controllable fill rates. If your in a rush and want to fill the tank up quick you just turn the tap open quicker, but most people will take there time to fill up a bit slower. Also with 16 self service 4.5k fill points and 8 self service 3k fill points. I very much doubt that there will be big queues other than the first fill rush which happens everywhere.

However I completely agree with the opening the air system the day before.

yeah, I didn't had any problem with the air during all the weekend, (Angel AIR) if this wouldn't happened my opinion will be different,

You are right in what respect to safety issues, it's the main matter in our sport (at least if we want it to grow, and i think we all agree with this) the better thing is to have enough people and gauges for a correct filling... (but it's easier for the organization to use this system and safe some stuff)

I didn't knew about the lack of filters... bad thing indeed.

'in ya face baby!'
for any of you guys that have been lucky enough to have H-Pac doing the air at a tournament you will see that they have it completely sussed!! no queues, slow fills, bottle date checks, and generally very helpful guys!!

i have no affiliation at all with these guys, i just appreciate the standards that they provide!!

also H-Pac have more filling stations for an M25 tournament with 40 teams than the Millennium Series air guys have with over 100. now if they were investing in us (the player) and were really concerned with safety (like they must have to be for insurance purposes) then we should see double the fill stations and controlled slower thus safer filling!!!

i am sorry guys this subject is not negotiable, we are talking an explosion great enough to loose an arm, or leg, or take your face completely off! (and this is not an exaggeration!!) i am a qualified diver (divemaster for any other divers out there) and air safety is a major safety worry, and please bear in mind that the majority of divers only use 3000psi (232bar) not 4500psi (300bar).

a 232bar fill should take about 5mins to fill a 12liter bottle when the bottle is kep cool in water or a cold jacket, a 300bar fill will always take at least two attempts (waiting for the bottle to cool between fills) and each attempt will take appro 10 mins, even with these far superior fillings techniques, you will never get a perfect fill. a 232bar fill will probably drop to 220bar when it cools fully, and a 300bar fill to 275-280bar if you are lucky!

2p plop!
