Physics is extremely relevent in everything we do.

The computer that hosts this forum for example would not be possible without the human understanding of physics.

Its a mistake to blame physics if it doesnt exactly simulate the real world.
By definition physics unifies the real world with a mathematical model, if our model does not cover every aspect of the real world (IE your example of assuming the world is in a vacuum) then it is our fault not the fault of the subject.

Obviously the more asumptions you make, the easier the model but the larger the possible error.

Modern physics is alot more about simulating complex systems on a computer (a cluster of supercomputers usually), with every conceivable factor taken in to account.

These simulations give extremely accurate results.

Im not knocking Physics it's self...and of course, appreciate its very important stuff...but when I was at school...ots of things relied on examples, as I described..>"Now class, did you know...."

I happened to be very good at science generally, tho never took Physics any further than GCSE...

Hows the patient anyway?:D
