Nice 'grey' area this one :). The ONLY time you are out is when a marshall tells you you are. If you are not sure - ask them. EVERY marshall sees things diffrentley (yes - they are only human) - so some calls will 'go' and some will be 'bad'.

Personally, I wouldn't call anyone out if their kit got shot - if, at the time it got shot, it was not attached to them in anyway.

Imagine if your straight shot fell out of it's holder as you run to the 50 from the break. Only to be pulled out as it got shot on the ground seconds earlier.

Discarded equipment rule applies only to loaders/packs etc. Pots and squeegees don't count as they are "disposable".

As soon as the guy put that down the pot (half full or not) wasn't part of his kit.

However, if he picked it back up again to use it after it's hit then yeah, he's eliminated.

Or if someone throws you a pot and it gets shot in mid air - you're eliminated when you catch it...

If the pot's not empty, it's still a part of his equipment just as if it was still on his back.

If your equipment is shot, you are eliminated.
Correct BUT only if the pot is blocking a direct shot, i.e. on the foot.

That sounds like the sort of drill I could get into; none of that tiresome running about:D

I'm off to get one of those 20-pot JT packs and some gaffer tape.

What if you muff the catch or don't see the throw in the first place and it just bounces off your head?

If still yes, could you throw a pot at an opponent, shooting the pot in mid-air to eliminate them when it hits? You might not get them out but the potential concussive effects might make this a winner. Especially if you use a brick instead of a pot.
