You said maintain, not understand.

I shoot an Ion.
But I dont go around saying its THE easiest to maintain gun out there. Because its not.
For example, being able to slide the bolt out of the gun easily, having fewer active orings, makes alot of bang valve guns far easier to maintain than mine.

You mentioned the quest there, which is an interesting one.
Ive never even been near the manual but I have successfully stripped down and serviced a few quests. Its a very simple design which for a spool valve lends itself to easy maintinence as its so hard to get wrong with or without a manual.

On the other hand, friends of mine who own minis, following the manual (badly) have lost tiny bits of the gun, or fired the whole insides out the back, and eventually just gave up on it because of the hastle.
You can't maintain a gun if you don't understand it, or at least that's my opinion.

Anyway, I don't say that the mini is the easiest gun to maintain without a reason. (Parenthesis here. We're talking about electro guns, as many -if not all - mech guns are easier than the mini)

Before buying it I read tons of reviews on pbreview, also checked the stickies they got at the nation. I strongly suggest you find the Mega Sticky for invert and watch the tech videos, you just can't go wrong with the basic maintenance of the gun. Furthermore, the tiny bits you are saying, I suppose you mean parts like the trigger magnet and that other tiny bit that I can't remember how it's called. :p

I don't want to sound like a smartass or something, but threads about these bits have been made over and over and over again on many forums. I'm not saying that if it's been discussed it is perfectly okay, but a couple of hours reading before disassembling a gun could save you from a lot of hassle.

Bottom line is that it is the simplest gun I've ever had in my hands, but that might be me. :D

the two main things to be careful off when maintaining your mini is that they can store a shot of air so take the bottle off and fire the gun to remove this.

The other is don't lose the check valve, it's a good idea to tech markers on a towel or tech mat so there is less chance of losing stuff. We also use a bit of solder so when we take our guns apart to the check valve stage we put it on the solder, (thread it through onto the solder), so it's really hard to lose and you can get it in the correct way.

apart from those two points it's really easy to maintain, the main thing would just be taking the bolt out of the back, lubing it and putting it back it.

There are really handy tech videos on the net, by the guy who invented it and not just some kid in his bedroom.

to be fair I've never spent much time shooting an ego and have never teched one, but I have spent all year shooting a mini, I am sponsored by invert but would honestly shoot it if I was not sponsored.

If anyone sees any of MK storm about and would like to see / shoot a mini please feel free to come and ask, I always love showing off my gun!

the only time we've had issues with brittle paint is if it breaks in our hoppers first and then goes into our guns.

05+06

so realy the main differance between the 2 is price + hype,
people saying they wouldent touch an 05 now is just the old paintball fashion thing in fact if you put an 05 and an 08 side by side on the field you wouldent notice MUCH differance except in your wallet,
