Indeed you have played against them and no doubt will again, come a millenium event, next time those balls are whizzing past when yours are dropping short (no doubt youve guessed which team(s) im talking about anyway). This does raise the issue of cheating though because as millenium and nppl rules get tougher on the gun cheats, how can we stop the gas cheats?

Im not gonna mention which teams do this cos their all pro and people will go throwing their toys outa the pram.
I thought it was important to raise the issue though, as this dosnt only effect pro games, not all tounaments have pro v pro only divisions and these teams could be shooting their markers at just about anybody who plays big events.

Matski, email me with teams who are doing this please, cheers !

Some friends of mine have played around with taking away the air propellant from a marker and replacing it with diffrent stuff...

The troubble they had are that they cant get u to 300fps..
But i heard that some development now is going on to make some sort of marker that dont use Air/co2 only batterys... In fact they are in the market but not in the size for pball...

Look at the Hardball/soft air guns (or what ever u call them in GB) That kind of technology should work on pball or? Of course u had to rebuild them and all that, but the tech part should be the same right?

Kimbo, I think you'll find that as soon as you start to approach the mass of a paintball and its attendant energy requirements of getting it down the barrel and out the end at 300 fps, the strored energy requirement and of a size able to fit on a gun, falls way out of the bounds of standard battery technology.
At this time, expanded gas propellant is, the cheapest, most efficent form there is !!

Yeah Robbo! Gas proppelant is the cheapest way for now... no question about that! And Im not a fysics expert about mass verus energy!

But hey! We put a man on the moon cant we then build a marker that only needs a recharge before we go out on a tournament weekend?=)

But everybody always try to get the max out of their equiptment!(specially pballers)
First there was the splattmaster now we got the IR3! First we had "shake it baby shake it hoppers" now we got turbo halo:s =)
The air system is getting more and more advanced... but where is the limit? How mutch farther can we go?

A human "normal" finger can´t shoot faster then maybe 12-13 bps...Without stroking or sweetspotting the trigger! And todays state of the art markers shoot 20 bps easy... Now we have paint that not changes when exposed to humidety or moist! (sorry for the bad english)

So what will they try to develope next? And a more interesting point is do we need to reserch any more in this?

Yes of course im a big fan of all the small gizmos that all the sales persons sell to us ballers.. U know that little thingy that will do that magic stuff so u just get to be the best pballer there is... =)

Well if we put all the money we spent on "unnessesary" gizmos to our pball kit... and instead bought paint and played some more on the fields we were all going to be a lot better right? and would have played more ball....=)

Maybe wasent this what this thred started about but we when u start to think about stuff sometimes u just float away...

i supose pball has advanced to a stage where you can fire as fast as humanly possible on a semi trigger, and consistently shoot it at 300fps acurately.

the way i see it there is two ways it can advance from here... improve on what exists making it more efficient, smaller and lighter. but i reckon the gas kinda stands in the way as this big mass on your marker. (hows about a built in air compresor..nah)

even if my design does work and can shoot a ball 300 fps, it'll be a few yearsbefore we see one that can outpreform current marker... i dont think you'll have to get rid of your impulses and angels just yet :p

gg brother nagging me :p

I think the use a fly wheel to store the energy to shoot the BB's what would happen to paintballs?
can we all say SPLUURGE? thought so:D
(actually it may be possible but I doubt it, it would be to harsh on the paint)

Probably true - unfortunately I very much doubt our good friends at NASA would find the developement of such a marker "in the interest of all mankind!"

DOH!

lol it would then be known as the million dollar gun because it would take millions of dollars to apply that technology and to buy one lol:)
