Yes some places take it, but in addition to another A-level or whatever - i was advised not to waste my time doing it by my tutor
Agree with you on that, its usually a bargaining plea for people who didnt perform in their other academic subjects. GS was a joke, always will be, but for some its compulsory, and it doesnt look bad on your CV regardless of whether it helped you into higher education.

For the effort it took to pass the exam (next to zero) and 1 hour a week of classroom time, it was worth having.

ALSO GOOD LUCK TO JACK FROM DISRUPTION i know you will kill it dude.

Geography is nothing about maps at all in my experience.

FTR I did the alternative general studies which was Language (German) Maths and Science, rather than the joke of a comprehension (English) based paper most people took.

TBH I'm not really bothered for your opinion, Mr I always end with a rolleyes so ner ner! ;)
Hehe - maybe you're smarter than i thought then :p

Wish i could speak a fricking language! ...specially when i'm meant to be getting a job travelling in Europe

Id like some advice - how do you go to uni in london and still afford paintball? :p
Dunno, nice parents?
I went to Manchester, but all cities are expensive.
Student loan helps, as does part time jobs - get in touch with the students union ASAP and ask for a bar job. If your lucky youll get the gig, and get to see some good bands if your union has a venue, and if nothing else chat to some fine ass fresher girls ;)

failing that, local supermarkets take on lots of students.
