okay guys,so a career in paintball is no good. so what do some of you do?if u dont mind me asking. i havent got a clue what i wanna do at all (except earn decent money as paintball aint cheap!)
so you lot must have decentish job to pay bills etc and still have money left over to play ball.

thought about being a pimp but the leapord skin just doesnt go with my skin complection;)

Work in IT at the moment....

Used to only earn enough to play paintball (milleniums and domestic tourneys and training every week = no social life)....It takes it's toll after a while...I done that for about 4 years or so.

I earn enough to play comfortably now but I kind of resent paintball now for how much it dominated my life. (I still loved every minute of it though.)

ive just got my gcse results today.

i dont wanna career in paintball now because like most people have sed i wont get to play regularly.and come to think about it, the gun techs?sales people?marshalls? how many times have i ever seen them play?
only once a year when everyone gets together at xmas to have a banter and a few games of ball.

i guess working in pball is the closest thing you can get to being involved in it without actually playing.

Joey,
So you think if you work at say a bank they give you enough time off to play paintball (if your playing the big events?)

Take Tommy for example he works for PMI he gets x amount of days holiday a year and he uses 90% of those to play paintball. He does have to take time off without pay so he can forefill his obligation to the team, if he worked for another industry he would not attend all the events, ask Bowen how he copes, Jamie Abbott self Employed but loses money when ever he goes away, Juniour same as bow.

These are just some examples.

The argument falls down if you have no intention of playing the big events and just want to play on a sunday!

but hey what do i know ;)
Hey Jase, I am a little confused why you think I have suffered because of the industry that I work in

I have worked in the industry since I was 15, doing various things and for nearly the past 2 years I have worked at PMI. No offence is meant by this bud, but working a warehouse for 6 months does not give you a well rounded view of the 'Industry'. Different employers and companies are different to the amount of holiday (Game time) that you can get. You have to make sure that everything is clear when you start working.

I have enjoyed everything I have done with PMI, through the highs and lows that inevitably happen. Mabye playing for Nexus helped with this, but I deffinately wouldnt have played as much as as I have this season if I was working a regular 9-5.
It can be hard being involved with paintball 24-7, and trying not to get caught up in the politics, but that is the choice we all make. I would never tell anyone not to give it a shot. Unfortunately you won't know if it is for you untill you have tried it; the same with any new job.

That is just my personal oppinion from my experiences.

All the best with whatever you guys decide to do,

Tommy
