5 man wooodball tournament cash prizes

Not one marshall there had a clue how to use the chrono to test that gun

it was showing 9bps at one point over the chrono when it was clearly shooting way way more.

As for the DM4 i never lied to you about that you saw the pic you saw the description i did you a favour annodising it

Duse you are disliked by evryone on here just go you cant make a valid point on anything!

all your posts are the same

i dont have or need a soap box

------end--------
What makes me laugh is that you kicked off initially when you got removed for playing on when shot?

Then when you realised that argument had no substance you decided to pick on the nerve.

The fact that Robbo had to get invlolved with the DM4 kind of sums it up for me??

First off on behalf of the Old Gits, of who i some how became the captain, (I think it was too far to walk to the captains meeting for the others) I want to say thanks to everyone for a great days paintballing.
Thanks to Wayne for a well run day, and hats off for striking a very good balance between a tight professional day and a relaxed atmosphere. This was no mean feat with the mix of levels of players which ranged from first time walk on players to seasoned Pro players with well over 20yrs of paintball under their expanding belts.
Thanks to the marshals, who i feel on the whole did a brilliant job and dealt with one or two unnecessary moments with the utmost professionalism and maintained a smile through out the day.

And just to respond.......

The uncapped ramping accusation was not false! and i never claimed it was hot! it was also never proved either way as the gun could not be tested I had every right to ask for it to be checked it was shooting at me and my friends i don’t care if you get your face blown out and probably most people on this forum couldn’t give a crap either.
i was stood later on with the organiser listening to that gun shoot and he agreed it was well over 15 your guy didn’t have a clue what he was talking about he had the nerve board set to rebound 2 all that does is effect the kick in it doesn’t effect the overall speed that is effected by dwell and recharge
I can’t really comment on this as at no time did i come across anyone who i felt was ramping over 15bps. I do think that most people played within the sprit of the game and stuck to the rules. Remember that many of the people there were not 'Pro' players and i know that a few people did not really know their kit very well. And anyway in my opinion, anyone who ramps in the woods is a bit of an idiot and is just asking for a large paint bill at the end of the day for no gain, its not Supair and ramping does not really give you that much of an advantage. I know that no one on our team used ramping and in fact we had one Mech marker... go figure.

The judges were running an event with ramping at 290 fps and above with no way to catch guns shooting over the limit your player woulnt test the gun properly and the judges didnt have a clue either
Im not stupid and know what i am talking about when it comes to paintball electronics.
Fair point. I guess this maybe something to keep in mind for other events and if we go down the ramping road then there should be a way of checking. Remember though this was not a Pro event and everyone was expected and told to play within the rules. If anyone broke this understanding deliberately then they are just idiots that don’t belong in the sport at this level or indeed any sport.

As for the rest of the event what a sham!!! the draw was pathetic with the winning teamplaying a team of complete begginers 3 times in the morning, then i hear from spectators in the final the organiser of the tourney (the brother of the guys team in the final) came on the field to judge changing marshals decisions........ i heard this from marshals and other people there.
I think you need to check yourself a bit there buddy and ask your self why you seem to be the only person who feels that it was a sham.
There were no teams we played 3 times, we did though play the A and B teams from the Assassins in the morning, could it be this you are talking about?
I too was a little confused about the order of play as there were some teams we didn’t appear to be playing, so i asked and i believe that there were actually two leagues as such, maybe this should have been explained a bit better. I think that if MT hadn’t pulled out then the order of play for the rest of the day would have made sense, as it was Wayne had to rapidly rework the order of play to keep the total amount of games played fair.
As for your accusation of 'changing marshals’ decisions', this as far as I know is completely untrue, i would be very careful about repeating hearsay. In fact there was no changing marshal’s decisions to be made in the final, it was a draw with one player eliminated from each side, ask Team Venom. If you would like to back up your accusation with some facts i will be more than happy to answer anything you can put out there that is based on truth.
No doubt you are trying to say that the day was rigged because Rafe who is Wayne’s brother was playing on the team. Believe me nothing could be further from the truth, we were all very aware that this could be an issue and so was Wayne. As a consequence of that we had the marshals all over us all day and we had a fair number of issues with decisions that went against us. But, and I’ll say this in the nicest way possible, all the issues we had were only ever discussed and raised with the head marshal of the field or with Wayne, at no time were any decisions reversed, much to my own annoyance on two occasions. We did not bitch and moan; we got on with the game and focused on playing. I take it as a personal insult that you think we were given the win on the day because of one person on our team being related to the organizer. Perhaps you think that the combined experience of some 100 years of woodland paintball from top Pro players from The Predators, Bad Company, Nam wrecking Crew, The Turks and the Bart’s stud squad count for nothing?

The paint was dreadfull even the guy selling it to me said im sorry its so bad but i have to sell you this stuff and at this price my hands are tied!!!
This happens; did you want him to dirve off and hunt down some better paint there and then? At the Holmbush 5 man the paint was terrible but we just had to work with it and adapt our game, no other paint available = no point in getting pissed about it.
It was a Bring Your Own event and you could have done so, like we did this time.

Its a shame about that even one of the organisers is a really nice guy he even asked for help with the next event

The head judge kept claiming he had 20 years experience what a load of rubbish he had no idea of the rules and just did what he liked

No one was ever chronod on or off the field when one of the judges went out with a hand held the first person he tested shot over 300fps but the organisers bollocked him for testing people!!!!

I had every right to moan i paid more money to enter that event than an nspl leg i have been playing paintball 20 years and have never ever left an event and i have played some bad events! We were being stiffed and so were other teams.

I dont care what you or your team think of me they need to learn how to set up their equipment.
and the orgniser need to realise the implications of running an event ramping with no chronoing of rof testing is disgusting and im sure the ukpsf would love to know about them! because it is sites and organisers like that that will get the sport screwed!
Wayne has been involved in paintball since the early 80s, and has run many a Pro woodland tournament in the past, in fact the score sheets was the norm back then and it was good to see them back. Yes the day was not perfect but I think on the whole it was a good day and I hope the focus was on trying to revive the woodland tournament scene in the UK.
Again, remember this was NOT a Pro event and yes you do have a right to moan BUT all you seem to have done is make yourself look a bit silly and you need to get your facts straight first. In the future maybe instead of moaning you could use your 20yrs experience to help and advise new players and to help improve future events instead of threats of the UKPSF?

Well done Venom for coming in tight behind us and Rob its good to see you are now a Horlicks convert.
I do hope that we see more 5 man woodland tournaments in the future as I feel it is time for this side of paintball to make a come back in the UK.

See you all again soon I hope.

Fantastic day,1 team complaining..mmm...strange.
It was a pleasure to play with the "pro's" and watch them play.
The Assasins "B" team were all novices that we brought along as a baptism of fire;they turned up 1 short, got pulled for a hot gun(un-tested back-up,ooops) but they really enjoyed it;I know they appreciated the older players next to them for the help and advice, thanks.
A few flankers were pulled on them, but hey they're new,it's a massive learning curve, they wouldn't have come last if Trauma hadn't left and the gun hadn't been hot,if,but...but they never got disheartened due to the encouragement and the help...spot on.
BTW they had no paint issues with the site paint....
Deserved results alround,thanks.....:D

I loved the Holmbush game and I would only say two things about this and I mean it in a positive way not a negative way here.

1) If there was an issue with ramping and the correct tools to measure are not there to measure, ban it. You don't need it in the woods semi is more than fine.

2) If running a league like at Holmbush it needs to be explained how the final placing will be made. We came first in our league and started to pack up for the day, we were then told we had to play another game. Looking on the score board the winners of the other league had more points than us. So for safety reasons (sleet and light) we agreed with them they had more points than us and should take first place. We never even placed in the trophies for doing that. Still have never worked out how that happened as surely place 1 from one league and 1 from another should be playing for place 1 and 2 overall ?

This did not effect our day at all and we made some great friends and would play again if we could. All I am saying on point 2 is if running as a league please let us know how it works for placings. Point 1 just resolves having to buy ROF machines/ tools and as most people state they don't use ramp anyways.

Paint issues as someone who sells paint on my site it is a pain in the ass to store lots of paint at the right temp. Especially in the winter in the middle of a forest ! But if there is an issue with this then use "Frostbite" classic ball that actually shoudn't be stored heated. Proto as what was used as site paint at Holmbush is going to be hard to store as one yet alone dozens. Proto is a great ball and I use a lot of it, but it will not shot well if it is cold.

Sensible pov m8 as I said should've been left on the field.
As for the rof you know more than me(not taking the pi55)about boards and stuff.
The problem comes down to the chrono reading,it's what we go by,there were no other options and the gun was tested randomly after(in case he turned it up I suppose:rolleyes:).
I agree completely, and it's not the fault of the players that equipment to check the stated rules was not available. Fact is, if the means are not available to check that guns are within the rules, then the organisers have to consider whether allowing ramping is a wise idea.
There is far too many he said, she said comments in this thread.
We were calm but one of your number would not leave it,we couldn't reason with him, sorry m8 but TBH he was like a spoilt child, nothing anybody done would have appeased him..
The bloke who took him aside for a chat afterwards did just that, and if he had been the head ref on that field then it would never have blown up as it did; the person who was head ref was, I'm afraid, the wrong sort of person for the job. As it was, we discussed the issues with this guy, and he took the individual criticisms constructively, and I believe the next event will be better as a result. For instance, we have offered to provide a PACT timer to check ROF reliably, as this is a safety issue you can see we are concerned about.

Cheers to the teams we played, sorry to the teams we didn't, and good luck to all for future tourneys.

"Don't get me started on old bill. For the most part they are more bent than Graeme Norton." - Dark Stranger.

I presume you speak from expierence then? What they fit you up for recently? Littering? bit of drunk and disorderley? Can't imagine it was anything more serious than that as you give the impression that you are some form of plastic gangster, a wannabe who cowers in his little pvc office chair at home, abusing people worldwide that will never find out where he is, if they could be bothered to look.

This sort of sweeping accusation can draw an unneccessary ammount of attention to yourself and the forums which is not required. So i suggest you wind your neck in....

well ?????

What can i say to all the above ??? As venom player i know the marshalls and some of the other teams. I have played you all over past few years and i was a little baffled with the argument i dont need it explaining as was said it should of stayed on the feild.
We will however look into wether ramping is necesary as new guys might of had a bit more of a chance plus it helps with movement of a game.
As for old gits they played well all day and i have known these guys now for 2 years and they allways kick my arse and you should no this as you play with them at campaign every month.Wayne would not take a victory away from us just to save few hundred quid as we received £150 for runner up anyway so why would he do this.Just to clear this up as i did hear the rumour after game ,even if it was true what was said that still left them with 3 of there best players and we could not move on them as they new a draw was a win. so well done old gits we will get you next time.
Hope we can move on with this as box said woodball is back and here to stay it will get better with time so please keep comming to events like this many thanks guys.
