Yep

Wha...? Bumpers? :)

Ram cap screwed into the back of the gun.

2-3mm sticking into the breach is ok?
bumpers - on the end of your ram closest your face when playing, there are some rubber pads on the end. aka bumpers

I meant the screw inside the ram cap.

yea 2 3 mm upon refelection does seem excessive. you should see a sliver of it.

take your ram cap off and make sure the inner part is moving.

Ram cap adjuster is wound all the way out and working properly but the bolt is still sticking too far in.

Ah well... sod it. I'll run some paint through it again at some point and come back with more questions:D

The bottom reg (hpr) needs setting to 200 with a gauge(who has a gauge !!!!) first(not told in manual)then the reg bellow the barrel (lpr) needs setting to about 75 on the markers gauge.
The manual sucks for the timmys i had same prob untill i got in touch with John C of spitfire(he is on this forum)his m8 who is timmy tech:)
If you do have probs getting gauge /setting up maybe try giving john c an email see if he can get his m8 to have look for you that is if your near to manchester.
Johns m8 does a service on marker and can sort it out for you great buch of lads and they know that their doing

Next question - even if the adjustable ram cap is wound all the way out i can still see 2-3mm of the bolt sitting in the breach when i look down the feedneck. Surely this isn't right?
What make ram cap do you have, as some do not need a bumper rubber on the ram.
If there is a rubber on the ram cap and one on the ram it will stick miles too far into the breech!
The bolt should be about 1mm into the feedneck area...as you put your finger down the kneck, with the marker gassed up, BUT OFF.

Next question - theoretically could i run a Timmy off an Ego board and grip frame?

Presumably i would need to:

1) shoehorn the solenoid from the timmy into the Ego Frame with the Ego board.

2) connect the board to the solenoid (anything complicated here? different voltage, current or whatever?)

3) connect the eyes to the board - or just use the Ego Eyes?

What else?

You will hit more problems than it it worth.
Why do you want to take this route?
1. Not enought room in the frame.
2. noids are both totally different. So connectors and possibly operating voltages are different
3. neither are compatable with the other.

Thats not to say it cannot be done!

The only reason I can see to do this is for the board. Any decent aftemarket board will do the job. If that's the reason I will be able to help you with an m7 Tadao board.:D

'Because it's there' might be ok for Tensing and Hilary

But they got lucky

Unless you're really really bored, or have just found a bunch of cash you didn't know about in your coat pocket, just buy Tony's board, or a 2nd hand ego
Got cash, got Ego. Got cheap 2k2. Bored. (Not board - Tony)
