Timmy's

Don't take the low pressure above 90psi.
You say you have stripped the regs down. Check the inside of the hp reg for any marks or wear around where the piston sits. Also, daft I know, but you put the washer back in the right place, didn't you. :D
If you have a spare 600psi gauge, screw it into the hp reg and check the pressure, this should be around 220psi, with the lp gauge set at around 75psi- 85psi. That should be the initial setup to give you 280fps.
What is your tank output pressure set to, it should be about 500 psi.
Check the ram, take it out the back and replace the rear 'o' ring, then regrease and refit it.
Have you took out and regreased the poppet valve?
Also check your board settings. Your dwell should be about 12 or less. Drop it down and see if that helps.
If you cannot sort it and you are at p.a next weekend bring it over and I'll take a look for you.

stan i take it this is the timmy you had at portishead? i did get that timmy up to 260fps at portishead but that was on the LP bottle. Also what lub are you using as dow 55 is the best thing to be using on it, i got some home here which i can let you have m8. To me it sounds like it could be one of a few things wrong with it or it could be a lot of things.

LP reg
Inline reg
Ram (needs new o-rings or a good lub)
Dwell (to low)

If you at the next snatch training stan i can take a look at ot for you

Bought this timmy: http://www.p8ntballer-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=58740

and can't get it to shoot over 180fps. Can someone give me a real basic guide to what i'm missing? This is my first Timmy and i don't want to **** it up.

So far i have:

Adjusted the vert reg to 85-100psi on the gauge.
Adjusted the horizontal reg (under barrel).
Adjusting the dwell doesn't make a huge difference.

Is this right? What am i missing?
should you not have adjusted the horizontal reg to 85 90 psi?

the vert reg is your velocity, not your operating pressure. Try dialling both out, then wind the vert in until air is flowing through your gun, then adjust your low pressure to set the operating pressure.

dont go above 90 as its very bad. just very bad....

Mario...spot on...missed the horizontal/vertical bit
Horizontal = lp
vertical=hp (velocity)

Next question - even if the adjustable ram cap is wound all the way out i can still see 2-3mm of the bolt sitting in the breach when i look down the feedneck. Surely this isn't right?

obvious but, is the cap screwed in to the body fully?

Check your bumpers, grease the ram.

There's a little voice in my head that is saying that the ram cap has to be wound in a certain distance before it works so it could be that. but i could be wrong.

2/3 mm is about all you need.

Ram cap screwed into the back of the gun.

2-3mm sticking into the breach is ok?
