Has anyone noticed ,or has information on the new 20 team CPL? If you look on their site and look at teams registered for Puget, there are 16 currently in CPL .With 2 promoted teams already up ,GK staying up and Ronholt joining ,they are still 4 teams short. 5 Star and Instinct are yet to declare. But a lot of the others ,including Disruption and 15's have already declared for SPL .Also NZ's answer to Dynasty have chosen SPL. This will mean even with the undeclared teams going up,they will still be 2 short. Needing either a team from halfway down SPL choosing a major step up and budget increase ,or someone changing divisions. This has been made harder by departure of Nexus and Heat.

A head start for 2017/18 rumours, with an interesting post by Tom Cole over on PBN (buried in the comments / whines about the NXL's chinstrap ruling):-

"Hello Guys,

We did not make the Chin strap rule the ASTM did. We are required to enforce ASTM standards by our insurance company. With or without the W we will require chin straps. We ask our players about stuff we have a say in but in this we frankly do not have and say. We will be getting rid of the W in 2018.

If a player was to lose an eye and was not following the ASTM standard our insurance may not cover the players health cost. All of this is avoided by this small annoyance.

Ugh, I kinda liked the Wu, took some time to get used to it, but it's better than most of the stuff that was in the Center. People whining on about things they have no idea about. Oh once the Wu came in there was collisions and masks falling off. No, that's been happening for 30 years no matter what bunkers were around. People run into things. People, bunkers, trip and fall, crap dives.
Tom is absolutely correct that it's the ATSM's decision, now...if there's a way to re-do the testing without chin straps maybe that'll be a cause to remove them.

Unlikely, bit like getting IIHS/Euro-NCAP to crash test cars without seat belts, goggles are perfectly wearable and comfortable with chinstraps, indeed you could argue that ASTM were at fault for passing systems with removable straps and organisers for allowing players not to use them. Complaints about goggle straps is just more millennial whinging.

I moved my Vio chinstrap to my Grills, it works fine. It's just more of a nuisance. Miss the ol' whippersnapper days.

Frankfurt Syndicate not playing in Millennium and maybe not in DPL either.

My German is crap and I'm relying on translated posts. But it certainly looks like that's the case.
