I'm definatly seeing a trend here between the opinions of people who have played with coaching and those who haven't ;)
Yeah it does seem to be a theme, cheers Iron Lions - Ed for the info and that you guys were dubious before you'd played it. The committee idea sounds good.

Yeh if each team has one representative, any decisions need to be made go to the vote, one vote per team then jobs a gooden as we say down south lol.
Im for coaching also, it gets the crowd involved and isn't really life or death game changing.

Right, I'm going to get on with some course work for a change now. I will be on placement starting from monday, so I'm not going to have time to continue the forum debates for a little while. But I think I have answered most of the points, even if everyone isn't completely convinced yet. We can always resume the discussion on the uni forum when it goes up in a week or two. In the mean time I'm going to get on with the admin for the league/website etc.

Later :)

start your own club, its amazing how willing uni's are to give you cash for it. Find yourself a local site, prob rec ball and get people interested with a few half days. Then before you know it people will be buying all the kit.

I'm not aware of any other players at sheffield, but like Mr.Ginja mentioned - if you start a club you'll soon generate interest and find any people who already play.

I'm collating an FAQ for the university paintball section of the UKPSF website which should be up in a week or 2. It will contain answers to all the questions I've been asked over the years - like how to start a club. So keep your eyes on the forums and when the new site launches have a look and see if you fancy starting a club. :)

It seems a club at Gloucestershire Uni had slipped under my radar. They've been active since at least the start of this academic year and have played 2 NSPL KotH tourneys so far.

This brings the total up to 17 clubs:

Aberdeen
Birmingham
Bristol
Coventry
East Anglia
Gloucestershire
Hull
Imperial
Keele
Kent
Portsmouth
Robert Gordon's (AKA Aberdeen Poly)
Southampton
Teesside
Warwick
West England
York
Any chance we could get an uptodate list of web-sites/main contact details for each club/society? How about people post up their respective club/societies details?

Ill start:

Aberdeen - www.abdn.ac.uk/~src350
President - Andrew Dyce - paintball@abdn.ac.uk

Not everyone reads this forum, so we wouldn't get a complete list from people posting up. When the UKPSF University Paintball webpages go online in the next week or two, there will be a database of the clubs and their contact details. These details will be drawn from the affiliation form. Hopefully there will also be a facility to complete the form online, so those who have not already submitted their club's form will be able to add their info to the database over the web. It should also be possible for clubs to edit and update their details online.

Please note, those clubs who have not yet submitted their affiliation form, you don't have to wait until you're ready to pay your affiliation fee. Once your form is recieved your club's details can be added to the database and you can participate in the decision making regarding the university events. An invoice will be sent to the address provided and once you process it and send a cheque (hopefully no later than the start of the accademic year) you will be affiliated and your pbuk subscription will start coming through.

Brilliant, looking forward to this all getting going.
