I worked damn hard on that thread, too. Did ANYONE have the foresight to save the recipes? I didn't. I know them, but I forget which ones I posted. Surely someone copied them down, right? Do us all a favor and email them around or put them on a website. I had been working on a site for them but got busy with work, building my team's new field (Well, pitching in here and there when I'm not dead tired. Dennis, James, Teeter, and DeAnna have been doing the vast majority of it and are pouring 100% of their hearts and souls into it, and 90% of every penny they own...might have cost James his marriage.), writing here, and some other stuff. Gawd this has been a busy week.

Please tell me you copied that stuff down Buddha and put it in a book! I want that to be published!

This one, however, rather than a lament of relocated recipes, is in fact my 1000th post. Yay. :) Strange that no one is here at the time. Oh well...what to talk about? Well, my first posts were over in England. Now I'm back at home, enjoying my night off from work, that is, one that I don't have to be going to sleep about now to wake up at 4:45. What a way to celebrate!

I suppose the best thing to bring up to make this a paintball related post is to ask a question that hopefully I'll be successful in implementing its answer. I'm going to ask a rather nice girl at work to come play ball with me next week for a first date. How would I go about doing this most successfully, that is, making her the most enthusiastic about going? I haven't taken a date to the field since I had my Mag...and it's been about 2 months since I've had a date at all. I'm thinking that letting her use my Angel rather than my Cocker is the best idea. Would getting her a jersey printed with her name and number be too much or just the right touch? I'm thinking about giving it to her the day I ask at work.

Ok KillerOnion here is my 2 cents on asking her out.

1) Take your Angel to work. During a break strike up the coversation about how Adrenaline pump and fun Paintball is. Bust out the Angel and show her how kewl is and turn it on. Show her how easy it is to pull the trigger. When you really have her attention ask her to come out a play.

2) Strike up that conversation and get her attention to the game. Get her all pumped up. But it only works if she is an aggressive woman. If she really sounds interested tell ask her out to paintball and a late lunch.

I have been out of the dating scene for 2.5 years but when I got my ex-wife and current wife on the slopes strapped on to a snowboard all I had to do was get their interest in how FUN it is. Don't forget to leave out the pain part. That could turn her off! Like I never mentioned the hours of freezing my wives asses off!:D ;) Oh yeah congrats on the 1000 mark dude!

Hey KO!
Welcome to the RSC (red star club).

I'm not the most qualified person to be telling you things about dating, since I've been out of that scene for 5 years now. But I wouldn't go for the jersey with printed name on it just yet. It's kind of like saying 'I love you' even before the first kiss (it looks desperate). When you can get her to go out balling for a second time, go for it! She is more or less indicating she has enjoyed the first time, and is willing to do it more often, so then it's cool if you 'support' her in her newfound hobby...

Anyway, good luck!

onion unless she is a money grabbing bitch then the jersey thing will freack her out too much too soon. That or she has issues.

So do your self a favor go with Rooster and Buddha on this one any self respecting girl should be impressed by an angel shinny nice clean lines no need to be impressed by the engeneering of the beast. Don't go full blow on her it's her your intrested in not the angel eye contact is good too.
If she is hesitant try and work out if it's you no offence or paintball she is not sure of you could always sugests she brings a friend , i know but we girls hunt in packs ever seen us go to the loo on our own. then you can bowl here over with your cooking later:D

Good luck

I agree, the jersey thing is waaay too much for a first date! Definitely the Angel rather than the Cocker - for starters it's a cooler looking marker (and we all know how important that is) & secondly it should be lighter. The smooth silky lines of an Angel are much more attractive to women than the rather more functional looking design of a Cocker (have to be careful how I put this - don't want to offend any Cocker owners), especially if it's a nice shiny coloured one.
As Rooster says, sort of forget to mention the pain & bruising aspects; also fail to say anything about mud, gun oil, dirt in general or paint in the hair - very important not to mention lank greasy looking hair full of coloured vegetable oil! Emphasise the fun & adrenaline rush aspects, talk about the cool scene in general. Remember, you know loads of girlies who love the sport so there's no reason why she shouldn't.

Not to rain on anyone's parade or anything ... but paintball doesn't say "first date" to me. If I were you (which I know I'm not) I'd bust out your culinary skills and cook a kick ass dinner. That's when you bring up paintball, maybe show her a copy of pgi and some of your kit.
