Another Hot MAO day...
It was another hot day at the MAO with the sun beating down on the site. The difference, today, was the parking. With the five-man getting down to business and spectators from across the land of the free and the home of the CFOA coming from all over the region to hit the vendors and check out the games, Paintball Central Charlotte is PACKED! There was even one point during the day that there simply just wasn't any room in the venue for any more cars and the only way to park was to wait outside in the street for a car to leave and for the police directing traffic to let you in. Certainly worse problems for an event to have!
Vendors like Dye, DXS, Planet Eclipse, DerDer, MWAG, Virtue, etc enjoyed heavy traffic, though who knows how many of them actually bought. The hit of the event seems to be the Virtue Crown "speed feed" type deal, with even pro teams lining up to get their hands on these things. Needless to say I got ahold of a couple and you'll see them in the next issue in the Gear section.
Watched some more great paintball! Philly put the beat down on Damage, hanging seven points on them in the first half alone, with Damage unable to get on the board at all. With eight minutes to go in the second half, Damage got it together and came back with four unanswered points of their own. Philly got their heads back on straight and nailed the coffin shut, but what a game. With the nine point NXL game and the league down to 12 teams, there simply aren't any pushover teams anymore. Even the best teams have to come out and give 110% every time and they can't take any points off; any team out there can handle business, cram their barrel into your eye and blow out the back of your head.
The stands are full of fans, the guns are chattering, the sun's out, Matty Marshall's on the mic and it's a good time to be in Rock Hill, SC.
