This new patented technology sounds interesting. I think this may be a nice contender, pending some on-paper information.
So far I have not heard much at all about the internals, other than its a FASOR design
For those who wonder what a Fasor is..

Fasor or Forward Air Spring Operated Return - bastically means that instead of using air from the solanoid on the ram to push the bolt forward and return it to the 'ready' position, it uses a spring to return the bolt. - (Some spool valves have attempted to apply this principle like the Shocker Spring mod, or the Ion Lucky Stage 2 Bolts with return Spring - which helps reduce dwell)
this is considered to be of an older design ala Rex Type-R, RX, R3 - but it has its advantages such as being easier to manufacture and maintain by the end-user, and some would argue as being more air effecient.

But i dont know much else about them - I hope that description is right/useful :p

I personally wish all paintball companies, especially small ones like DP would shut the hell up about patented technology...

Someone needs to tell them they arent Samsung or IBM...
Sorry for the ultra late reply!

I didn't mean that in terms of 'hoyes, they can screw over other companies!', but more in the way that they're implying that they're coming out with something new and interesting in this marker.

But, as Sugz said, since we haven't heard anything yet we have no idea what they've got in it - and patented could mean anything, so well done to DP on the marketing there.

In short, yeah, I agree. But I'm still curious as to what they're on about.

I dont think they have the financial clout to start screwing other companies over or even to enforce any patent of theirs.
Smart pants proved you can be sucking royalties from the whole indutry, and still fail in the most epic way.

I also think as an industry, we have handed over enough money to patent lawyers already.

I too am curious to know what they have patented.
Thats the sole intention of the patent, not to protect intellectual property but to generate interest.

They could have spent that money paying Olly Lang to shoot it, or even just straight knocked the cost off the retail price of the marker.

Those two options keep the money within the sport, rather than buying a patent lawyer another Bentley.

Price of the FX has been rumoured from a reputible source, of $550
I'm not sure how markers are priced in the UK when compared to their US equivilants however.

DP i reckon are a very good competitor in the mid range marker cat, that includes pm's, etek's, a well kept mini, etc....

i have liked the looks on all there markers very sleek and attactive as every single pball players likes shiney things, but yer its good to see that a non main stream organisation from the paintball world is doing well enough to still bring out markers in the "global recession". and fair play to them is pretty good looking, just only complaint i have that all markers are starting to look the SAME !!, not a direct attack at DP just in general , someone needs to bring out something fresh !!!! still nice well done DP.

For the money the f8 fusion was a really nice marker apart from the fact the Reg sucked big time, put a decent reg on and they were a great little marker.
