Using a dead man as a barrier

Just got a question.

Was playing today and we were on a bridge. I shot one guy and as the guy was walking off the bridge towards me another guy in play used him as a barrier and ran up behind him and shot me out. If the dead player wasn't there i would have had the perfect shot as the player had nothing to hide behind and i had a nice bit of wood protecting me.

I couldn't shoot at the guy as there was a dead player in the way and the rules at the site state you can't shoot dead players (also it's not fair).

I've never played a tournament so i'm not sure on the rules. At the time there wasn't a marshall close so i couldn't say anything. I just walked off as i had been shot but i was very anoyed.
I had a word with the marshal at the end of the game and he said.

If there wasn't any other way out he would allow the dead player to be used as a barrier e.g. if he was stuck in a house. In this case there was a way out and the player should have gone back and i should have continued to play.
Obladeo, when i came over the bridge and around the corner i didn't realise you where there, i only noticed once i was out of cover and in the open. While you say i used the dead player as cover, i was actually just moving up the bridge we were playing on to a different position.
The only difference was you hesitated to shoot while the dead player was in between us, i chose to shoot round him managing to eliminate you while not hitting the already dead player. ;):D

I wasn't pointing figures or bring names into this as I was seeking advice for the next time I played. As said I’ve not played tournaments and only really play woodsball. Live and learn that’s what I say and I’ll be ready for the next time.

At the time you ran round the corner you had no cover what so ever and there were two of us aiming right at you (we saw you run round the corner and I shouted to the other guy) but the player was in the way. Both me and the other guy on the corner would have had a full on body shot at you.

I just like to play as fair as possible when I play as I don’t know all the rules and that’s why I asked on here. I do learn more and more each time I play.

Back in 'Nam I would often crouch behind the bodies of my fallen comrades. Charlie would keep peppering my position with tracer-rounds, and I would think, "hey, Jimmy don't care anymore, so why should I?"
The only problem is that if you use kids that are 'fresh-dead' the splatter can be unbelievable when taking fire. Once, when my position was overrun, I just lay still, and there was that much blood & gore splattered on me, the VC walked right by me without sticking me with their bayonets, which was their usual practice, so I guess that day I was lucky!!
Sometimes I would even make a barrier out of enemy dead, while setting up my .60 for enfilading fire. I don't think it really matters who they are once you're in a firefight, you're just happy to have some cover out there.

nice one Crash
this should be moved to Tactics & Technique :D
Now i don't usually share my tactics with others, but on this occasion i will make an exception.

Obladeo, what i did on sunday was a skill that took many years of practice, and once mastered it will become your greatest weapon on the field.
It can be used to take out the oppostion behind bunkers, trees and even dead players as you found out on sunday.

The first 6 seconds of this video will explain everything i am talking about....;)
