Using a dead man as a barrier

Just got a question.

Was playing today and we were on a bridge. I shot one guy and as the guy was walking off the bridge towards me another guy in play used him as a barrier and ran up behind him and shot me out. If the dead player wasn't there i would have had the perfect shot as the player had nothing to hide behind and i had a nice bit of wood protecting me.

I couldn't shoot at the guy as there was a dead player in the way and the rules at the site state you can't shoot dead players (also it's not fair).

I've never played a tournament so i'm not sure on the rules. At the time there wasn't a marshall close so i couldn't say anything. I just walked off as i had been shot but i was very anoyed.

definately, shoot the crap out of the dead player until he gets out of the way.

Oh, and mega move by the other player.

Shoot at them! They will say you cant shoot dead players, but thats only intentionally, e.g shooting a few balls into the dead zone at people. If the guy is dead, he should do all he can to make sure he doesnt interfere in the game and if your shooting at the guy behind him i dont see a problem if he's in the way of where your shots are going? I wouldnt have thought any marshalls would have had a problem with the dead man being in the way of the game?!

Dead players tend to move quite well with a couple of warning shots.

I dislike the move of using the marshal as living cover, mainly when I am the marshal !!

NPPL 2004 rulebook said:
36. Freight Training
36.01 Freight training is the act of utilizing multiple players who move and act in such a manner
so that the lead players after being marked and eliminated impede or prevent the timely
elimination of other players in the train.
36.02 Referees will allow a freight train to continue, but will remove one player for each instance
of continuing to play by any of the freight-training players. When the freight train stops, the
players who took multiple hits will also be removed from play.
Dunno if that helps, I'd imagine the more modern rulebooks are less forgiving.

I had a word with the marshal at the end of the game and he said.

If there wasn't any other way out he would allow the dead player to be used as a barrier e.g. if he was stuck in a house. In this case there was a way out and the player should have gone back and i should have continued to play.
