I also heard that rumor about on Paintballers were allowe don site but I saw general public. Of course only paintball players were allowed into the players area. This did limit spectators on the M5 fields somewhat.
General public came in, but manly guests at the hotel.
Div1 & 2 fields coaching was fine - we had a small metal fence to hop over and then we had a distance between that fence and the net. I can't remember what CPL was like.
The hotel itself had security staff at the entrance stopping people with water and making them leave it outside. Once people cottoned on to putting it inside your kit bags this went away. Of note here though the guests staying at that hotel were supposed to get drinks as part of their all inclusive, like we did during set up days, but suddenly the hotel changed it's mind and everyone was charged.
I know the MS fell foul of this for the Referee lunches too. The hotel tried to charge them 7 Euro a head for lunch, which shoudl have been part of the all inclusive! I think a number of them took a walk across the road back to the main part of the hotel and ate in the buffet restuarant - which is what I would have done too.
Full size trade would be an issue but the trade have other issues with VAT Customs procedures. Taking goods for sale poses and issue but having display stock doesn't. We had originally planned for one of our tents including teh sound system to be there so effectively halved our stand - if most of the trade did similar then I think it would fit.
You could only get 4 fields on there so numbers could be an issue. I have heard some theories on this.
Flights - mine were £300 and I think one of my guys paid £240 and the best deals seem to be the day charters or package holidays.
With the all inclusive accomodation it can make good value. My travel bill for Turkey was less than Paris and thats including flights, accomodation and food. Of course I also had no Bar Bill to pay either
For the record I stayed off site at Paris.
