I wasn't around during the 7man days, and I haven't played nearly as much xball as most of the people on this forum so I probably don't have a good understanding of the paintball scene.

But you say this idea won't gain traction. Why not? If tournament paintball is in trouble, and the 7man format was truly more enjoyable and truly more affordable, then it seems like a winner.

Simply because.....'You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink' ...... get my meaning?

Our industry power people are notoriously entrenched in self-interest and inspecting how many haemhorroids they possess.

theres no point in asking everyone what they want because we all want different thing in particular, but the constent is fun and I'm always hearing people ask at trainings "oh lets do a seven man that would be fun" so theres nothing wrong with taking a chance with this because the chances are it will turn out for the better as people want to do it

My fondest memorys of playing are of 7 man (the PA, Masters, Bullys series).

The fields had more bunkers, back bunkers were designed for fat blokes and not 3ft 5 stone kids like they are now.

Having played x-ball, 7 man, 5 man, 10 man, 3 man! I would say 7 man was the most enjoyable. You had defined back, mid, front, insert players.

Todays game as mentioned was derived to make it a faster, more exciting spectator sport, but to be fair how many people watch paintball? Apart from watching the top teams play games paintball is just dull to watch in every format imo!

I used to love the Milleniums and NPPL before they introduced the locked divs. When Pro teams played fellow pros and then div 1 and 2 teams as well. Dynasty and other US pro teams used to put a team into Campaign or one of the other Euro events.

Can't see it happening though, the likes of the Mills enjoy the 'locked' divs like the CPL and SPL as they are guarenteed attendances/revenue from the big teams.
