Sorry Mr Holier-than-Thou that I can't respond immediately- some people have other things in their lives apart from sitting in front of computers- I work for a living and don't often get the chance to reply. Good enough for you?.
I was actually interested in why you had a problem and just wondered why you didn't want to elaborate on it, but now you come back with a response like that then..............

I dont think i have a leg to stand on though after only playing one full year of the ms.

and to be honest i dont know if the ms would hold a grudge about me or getting a bunch of people to write it.

I am more worried about what they are going to say when i send them a email about us not playing turkey and the fine that they are going to impose.

What would you suggest?
Same situation we had which resulted in us losing our Div 1 spot. We knew we couldnt field a full team for all events, and so had to give the spot to the MS, who then sell it onto another team. A few years of work, gone.

If only they unlocked rosters and had like how the PSP's roster rules are.

I might be way off the mark here, but here goes any way.

Do you think that if the pro's or semi pro's didn't have most of there entrance paid and free paint and all the other things we normal teams have to pay for they would play this event?

I dont think so maybe the sponsors should get involved as well, lets say they turn around and say to the ms that they are not happy with the way teams and players are treated i think if vendors started to talk with there feet that the ms would actually start to care about what players and teams really thought.

like i said i might be way off but i think i have a point some were in this drivel i write.

They must know some thing is a miss with teams not coming, the current climate cant be blamed for every thing i think that is just a good excuse when you need it.
I think that many of the pros and semi pros would not be pros or semi pros if they had to pay all of their playing themselves.
I think many people wouldn't play if they weren't given paint, or at least a large discount. But that is a problem that applies to all of paintball, not just the MS.

As for blaming the economy, you're right, it can't be blamed for everything. But the fact remains that because of it, many people can't play anymore and so any event promoter will most likely not have any like for like growth compared to previous years. The reason JT, SP and WDP weren't there isn't because they didn't wanna be in the middle of some field... :(
What I'd like to get a good indication of is what went downhill first, the events, or attendance.

I can't agree with this.
You don't agree with "Of course, a good level of research and planning would be required to assess the business before hand"

So to take your example to the extreme of having making money as the main goal of the business. Banker A says to Banker B , "Do you fancy making a new kind of trade, unfortunately it is selling debt so there could be some risk involved? "
Banker B says. "There might be risk but think of how much money we could make!!!!!! So lets not bother with the research as that means less time making money."

Several billion dollars traded later................. Whoops......... Looks like we created a recession........Lost my job....... bankrupted my old company

Of course money has to be considered and everyone needs to feed their families but if money is at the top of your goal list, you will compromise whatever product you are selling, taking unnecessary risk, using cheaper inferior materials, poor customer service etc. Compromising your product, compromises your customers and then your business. No business = no money!

Money is a nice side product of a successful business. Successful businesses have a vision. Show me 1 company mission statement that says their main objective is making money!

This thread has bought a lot of valid points to light but it also has some mistruths to it.

I very much doubt the directors of the Millennium read these forums so they may not know a lot of the issues if they are not bought to their attention.

I very much doubt they would hold a grudge for constructive critscism as long as it is constructive.

So I suggest you send them an email with what was wrong from you the paying customers point of view. I am sure if they can fix some of the problems they will, but some maybe just not possible to do.

Do you live in Disneyworld?
The goal of any real company is continuity. Which usually equates to making money. The only reason companies have visions and mission statements is because they try to go for the long dollar, rather than the short one (which would lead to your doom scenario, but they found out long ago not to do that).
The real world isn't as fluffy as you think, it tends to have teeth, lots of them.
