Anyhow, one thing for which I think the people running this little shindig should be publicly humiliated, is the toilets... I'd bring it up, but I think I might throw up.
Dear good God, the state of them...i counted i think 10 port-a-loos in total, 4 of which i went to use only to discover to my distaste, were shall we say quite literally crap. Now i don't know whether it is because some of those who attended lacked the ability to physically flush the toilet or due to the fact there were only 10, all with the sign "these toilets are to be used by 10 people or less in a 40 hour week." The event was over 72 hours.... anyone else notice something? They were disgusting...this is another thing that definately needs to be addressed.. I salute those three brave players i witnessed who actually ventured in to them to clear them out.

Don't worry, didn't take it as a dig. But to answer your point, why do you think I don't play anymore? I voted with my feet and wallet. I understand there is no real alternative at the mo, but I'm pretty sure that if the MS were to keel over and die, there would be something else in its place real soon. After all, there have been things happening in the east and I'm sure there are others who'd be willing to take the leap if the MS were out of the equation.

As for point 2, believe me, I'm not sticking up for the MS. I see loads of amateurish things happening that I think are ridiculous and again, that's one of the reasons I don't play.
I just felt that some of the stuff being thrown at the MS in this thread was undeserved and I would rather see people throw the stuff that the MS is accountable for. That way it would hurt more. I bet it would suck to have one of those disgusting porta-loos thrown on you for example. :D
I might be way off the mark here, but here goes any way.

Do you think that if the pro's or semi pro's didn't have most of there entrance paid and free paint and all the other things we normal teams have to pay for they would play this event?

I dont think so maybe the sponsors should get involved as well, lets say they turn around and say to the ms that they are not happy with the way teams and players are treated i think if vendors started to talk with there feet that the ms would actually start to care about what players and teams really thought.

like i said i might be way off but i think i have a point some were in this drivel i write.

They must know some thing is a miss with teams not coming, the current climate cant be blamed for every thing i think that is just a good excuse when you need it.

I must have missed something here...

Since when did Piper work for the MS?

ps. Pipes, if you're not on the payroll, send them the link to this thread and ask them for a cheque, you're working your ass off for them and it's the very least they can do for you...

yep i also voted with my feet and didn't play this event. and now after spending 3 days there im really glad i made that decision.
over price entry over priced every thing. really not the CC of old. real lack of atmosphere. although i did enjoy the cometary all weekend ;) so i did sit and watch the ball all weekend as it was free. and boy was the reffing inconstant  watched a few games where the reffs decided who won.
Best bit about the weekend was the night out on friday :D

On the brighter note planet did let me walk around with the SL94 so i could get the feel for my new arriving shortly toy..
Which we can expect to see for sale on the forums a few weeks afterwards eh Carl ;)

Just so you know, the vendors make little money at these events, if any. It is not a money making venture at all, far from it, and infact they probably spend money by being there.
Yes I am aware of that fact, and that basically attendance is just PR for them, hence my suggestion of lower costs all round. The costs are on a sliding scale so a general drop in the costs should (hopefully) at least make it a break even option for traders rather than a straight out loss.

Im wondering if the Millennium charge the food vendors rights to attend, which might explain their extortionate prices. (Well all except the Bar which I thought was reasonably priced....under the circumstances)

Missy all I am doing is pointing out some facts. I am fed up with reading incorrect things about an event so I figured if I add in the right facts it helps people get a better picture.

There was a thread about how bad Malaga was I suggested to Markie that he should get all the griped moans from all the teams and send a constructive email to the Millennium....... That was not done for whatever reasons...... The Millennium do get it wrong they have their faults like any business, it is life and business no one gets it right 100% of the time. But has anyone actually written to the millennium and complained in a constructive way? I am betting the answer is no.

Ok well i am not sure what the guy with the problem with at the start of all this has had with ulirc, and i would like to know because what was the point of coming on to a forums and talking about it?
Sorry Mr Holier-than-Thou that I can't respond immediately- some people have other things in their lives apart from sitting in front of computers- I work for a living and don't often get the chance to reply. Good enough for you?

In the non-literal sense, Ulrich's job is to ensure that there is a level playing field for this competition, that rules are adhered to and everyone receives a fair crack of the whip. This is simply not the case. I honestly believe that in any other line of work the guy could be sacked for gross incompetence. On top of that, on a personal level, he is genuinely tactless and insulting. With an overflowing catalogue of consistent ineptitude, the series really needs to consider getting rid of him to bring back any creditability. I really cannot go into specifics about how he's riled me so much- it would implicate teams that I don't have a problem with.

F8ck the event. It's a shame that it's in the middle of nowhere, costs a fortune, doesn't have the same vibe/atmosphere/whatever you want to call it as Crystal Palace, that the food is lower quality than dog food and more expensive than truffles. I came to the event as a paying customer wanting to compete against my peers. In the end, I got fleeced for several hundred pounds for 20 minutes of paintball and insulted by remnant of the cold war who dresses like an Australians nightmare.

I dont think i have a leg to stand on though after only playing one full year of the ms.

and to be honest i dont know if the ms would hold a grudge about me or getting a bunch of people to write it.

I am more worried about what they are going to say when i send them a email about us not playing turkey and the fine that they are going to impose.

What would you suggest?
