i don't need to, your the one with the knee jerk reaction ! and posting up your disgust at some thing you have been handed from the media. i have no problem with them claiming over 150k a year. do you know what these people do in an average week ? who they employ the jobs they do ? NO don't think you do. how about looking to find out what your MP does do rather than worry about what they don't do.
I love how you
try to be condescending.
How many hours they do? commonly its thought around 70 hours a week. Yes it is considered all in all for how much they work, lower than the average going rate for that ammount of hours.
Can't be that bad considering though, how many MP's have left the commons for feeling "underpaid"?
How about the large ammount emplyoing family members on VERY comfortable salaries then writing that off as an expense to the taxpayer? Now unless we are living in a magic bubble, most of these MP's have their own personal agendas aswell.
So, we the taxpayer are paying money and covering them in hundreds of thousands of expenses to let these people get ahead in life, while those who pay for it most (the lower classes) still end up getting nowhere.
So what does my local MP do for us? Well as far as I know, MP's don't do anything locally for us. All they do is (at their discretion) is forward any concerns about the main goverment (Tax, NHS ect) that we may have, and to add, they have such leaniency that they could throw a letter of yours in the bin without reading it and put forward something which, may simply only benefit them if they so wished.
All of this, could be handled by the local council, which, with the wonders of the internet would make the whole thing much more cost effective.
So lump, balls in your court. Tell me, what advantages do we get by paying these people £65k a year and then another £150k which could all be handled by your local council?
(Sorry about the slow reply was watching shaft)
