Hi i was just wondering are the foam neck guards worth wearing, or will it not make any difference when being shot in the neck.

I have got one but it just feels too uncomfortable so i do not use it, but if any one who has one and has been shot in the throat, neck could you tell me if it makes any difference at all. If it does i will then use it as if it was no problem at all :D.

Cheers Ian

I have a neck guard, only wear it for reffing punter days, because some of the paint sites use are made like reballs.

Well stored paint will break without causing too much pain, so i never wear it during training or tournies on the basis that they are too restrictive and not worth the time(and you don't look too cool)
take the pain, clean yourself off and get into the next game :)

Thanks it just gets in the way of me playing, i dont mind the pain but i was just thinking getting shot in the throat can`t be to good for the internals of the vocal cords.

I cant get on with a neck guard, just feels to weird!

I would rather suffer the consequences, plus nobody can see you crying when you have a tinted lens on your mask. ;)

Yha i gues so ill stick to my tinted lens then :D, I found that they restrict your breathing and are more annoying than being fogged up in the midle of a fire fight.

Yeah, suck it up. If reffing, I can see why it'd be worth it, but any time I've taken one to the throat I just exhale loudly and stagger off the field. It's a wierd feeling, but the pain goes after a minute or so.

Its always ironic that when wearing my neck guard, i have been hit 4-5 times above and below it, and not once on it:D

I started wearing one but for the amount of times I got shot in the neck it's worth the risk of not wearing it and being comfortable whilst playing.
