I'll also say that i don't think that the attitude in a Paintball is any different to other sports, just that no other sports have such an obvious and substantial payoff for cheating.
And while I personally accept that cheating is a part of the game, i do agree about there being distinct degrees of it. Some I believe acceptable others are just plain extracting urine.
Problem is without decent marshals the honest player has little he can do, which often leads to discarded morals and an escalation of cheating in an attempt to level the playing field.

Funny incidence of cheating was me overhearing a certain well known pro discussing shooting around 340 FPS at campaign cup CPL (dunno what ROF but id wager it was "lots)
One of the things about cheating in the UK is that you don't have to be very good at it in order to get away with it. The problem then comes when making the transition from local ball to Euro/US ball where the standard of reffing is generally a lot higher, suddenly you don't win as many games as you're used to.
My advice, if you want to get better, don't cheat.... at least not until you're good enough!

see that makes sense .. dont cheat because it reflects on yourself as a player and give no incentive to better your self
Kind of proves my point mate. I think there needs to be a marshals accreditation scheme. Hell, I'll even run it (the admin side that is) if I can get someone to teach the 'courses'. Actually, that's another problem - who do we get to 'teach' them?
