At what point has any body been stopped from protesting? The pictures above were taken in London and kept out of the press to protect the scum bags.
If anyone's right to protest was going to be denied, surley they would have been a prime candidate. Yes I am damn sure there were a lot of photographs taken of the protesters, in order to investigate how far they are willing to take their opinions and so there should have been.
I agree that everyone should have the right to protest, but abuse that right and fall foul of the law then expect the big stick. Included in this is causing disruption like the CND lot or inciting hatred and violence like the Islamists above.
Where good old Ben F's quote falls down is it is your freedom that needs the security. The laws that are put in place are for the long term assurance of your freedom. The terrorists at work in this world aren't just after raising awareness, they want world domination.
The goal of the Isalmist fundamentalist is 'Dar-es-Salaam', or 'the house of peace' that can only come about with the whole world being muslim. They also believe the qoran says that any means in achieving this is justified by the end.
So take anything other than the hardest of lines on this and faster that we will become a big brother state, we will become a 'ahoya jabir*' state.

(*phonetic spelling but basically means big brother in arabic ;))

watch the first 6 minutes of http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3351275215846218544 . Watch the whole thing if you like.

Who kept them out of the press? Who has that power?
Do you think politicians should be allowed to keep the bad photos out of the media?

At what point do you begin to abuse the right to protest, of course at violence, public disorder etc. But who gets to decide when views are too 'extreme'. Unlawful actions should be punished, not beliefs. Decisions of this calibre are too much power to give to any fallible person.

I could say that some posts in this thread were inciting 'hatred' against islam, and 'fear' from attack. Did you know that alone can define you as a T?

Put this another way. If you go to a protest, the police record the fact on your 'statebook'. If your views are consistently against the government, they will know. They will have all the information and all you can do is pray they don't abuse it.

Well, i'm glad you're not in power, because the hardest of lines on this is the big brother state. People are too terrified by the prospect of being attacked, when the reality is you're less likely to be killed by a T than you are getting killed by lightning.

Watched. Of course it's not propaganda if it's your point view.

Here's some homework for you too, Dr. Peter Hammond's book - 'Slavery, Terrorism and Islam: The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat'

We're not just talking about the chance encounter with a terrorist attack, it's the gradual success of these organisations in their ultimate goal that should be feared. This has to be combated as it occurs before it gains momentum.

Until those who feel so violated by being accountable for their actions and views come up with a better idea, these measures are taken for the greater good.

What is the alternative? As much as you think you are oppressed, I don't think you'd like it.

We bring them out of the dark age.Teach them how to live and become a real country and all they want to do is follow laws from a book written by who knows. There should be no give with these people all suspected and there families no matter how close should be deported back to the place where they can continue with there stupid religon. They are a self distruct nation and destroy all that they come in contact with.scum

Who have we brought out of the dark ages and taught to be a real country?

They follow a religion (some closer than others) not stupid laws and the book is called the Qur'an, it was revealed to Muhammad by the angel Jibrīl and was written down by Muhammad's companions while he was alive.

Which is a self destruct nation and who have they destroyed?

Who exactly is from the third world? I'm sure a lot of the protesters were born in Britain.
If your referring to others then which country? Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan? I'm sure you'll find they are not third world at all.

I find your comments uneducated and hateful

Location, Location.
Have I read 1984? Yes, it's a novel, try to remember that and I can guarantee you enjoy more freedom now than when it was written, not less.
In the real world, security services in the UK are so closely scrutinised every time they invoke anti-terror legislation that abuse just doesn't make sense. Mistakes are bound to happen, people and systems are fallible but on the whole, if you've nothing to hide, you've nothing to fear.
Could you explain how we have more freedom now?

Given that lawfully i can't protest in parliament square without permission, my internet communications are logged and accessible by over 300 agencies and thousands of staff, i walk through cctv everyday where my face is logged and cross referenced to a database, where if im arrested but not charged my DNA is held on an illegal database, where owning a book can mean i could be seen to have terroist tendencies and can be held for 28 days and possibly longer with no charges being brought?

Who scrutinises the security services? MP's? The goverment? The same goverment who allowed a british national to be tortured with no proof he was a terrorist? The same goverment who witheld information from a court case due to the nature of our 'transatlantic partnership'? The same goverment who will allow the police into parliament because someone is leaking information for the public good but they dont like the info being released?

Just for the record, im no anti capitalist, tree hugger or anything like that. However at the pace this country is going we will be in a 1984 scenario sooner, rather than later.

You mean like 7th July bombings in London, not such a failure.
Guess they werent actually "terrorist IMIGRANT cnuts" as they were born and bred in the UK, but guess that ruins your solution of banning foreigners

Think of another solution when you get back from your BNP meeting

Fair point, I appologise for not thinking about my response properly.

It seems theres not alot we can do to stop terrorism.
Banning religion might help (jk) thats where alot of these problems lie.

Whether it solves terrorism or not, Imigrants should still be banned.
