ScottyDog as you say you have rich parents to send you to private school? why dont ur mum and dad give money to cancer research? yeah, they might not be as rich as jade goody but what difference does it make, her children are now going to grow up and go to private school just like you did. To be honest i would do the same, **** everyone else id care about my family first, get my kids a good education good jobs so they can make differences in the world. yeah give the money to charity, would make no difference cancer research uses billions of pounds a year to attempt to find cures and still no cure, 700K doesnt touch the surface. Just my opinion.

not really sure how going to a private school affected this, i went to my local comprehensive and achieved something not miles off of that.

I just dont see how it can relate to the Jade Goody point, sure you/your parents have more cash than me, and hopefully her kids will get a better start in life thanks to what she did, id be chuffed if i got 700 grand at my funeral, i admit i can see that now.
its not just the exams though it all of it, people always say why do you pay for private school when people get just as good grades at comprehensive (of which there are many good one) but i am now able to say i have got a diploma in music on two instruments, have played college level cricket, rugby, hockey and football and i have led one of the few remaining cadet bands in many places including infront of royalty, plus next year in the 150 years of the CCF i will get to lead the cadet march in london to buckingham palace and in front of the queen. so i think it has a few benefits not to mention the old 'character building' / torture that goes on in boarding houses :D

At private school you aren’t generally paying for the quality of education, but rather the manner in which it is delivered and absorbed; classes are smaller, facilities better and teachers cherry picked for teaching 'excellence'. Ultimately, the kids that have the intelligence and discipline to succeed will succeed regardless usually - private school helps those that either don't have the discipline or the mental ability to succeed where they would otherwise fail, for a price.

to be honest my parents aren't rich we're just a middle class family and we give £700 a year to cancer research since my grandmother died four years ago and we've raised money for the hospice she was in, all told we raised £5000 for trinity hospice on the year she died

will probably regret saying this, but does the opportunities youve had make you a better person than me/anyone whos "comprehensively" educated, would be nice to stay on topic.

In all honesty whatever happens to her money is now the choice of her children - if they want to donate some then they can and if they want to use it purely for themselves then that is also their decision.

Jade Goody was told in February that her cancer was terminal and that she had a matter of weeks to live. 22nd of February she got married, 7th March she christens her children (during the ceremony she needed to be treated). 22nd March she sadly left this world.

Jade did what any mother would do - she thought of her children first, she may not have been the brightest spark but she used the one thing that she could to ensure that her children will forever be provided. The media tried to humiliate her, belittle her, made her as famous as what she is and then tried to destroy her, so is it really any surprise that it is the media she used to make sure her children are provided for.

Yet through her pain and sadness she found a way to pass on a message to help thousands of young girls - surely this cannot have been easy and for this I applaud her.

But whatever you thought of her whatever your opinions are: a husband is now without a wife, friends are without a mate and 2 young boys are without there mother. I am sure that if they could return all that money and be forced to live on the streets just so that they could have their Jade back they would do it in an instant.

No money can ever replace a life, every life is special and is worth more then any materialistic items.

Sorry the post is so long.

I've only skimmed through this as most of of seems off topic. But all the people mad at jade for making money from the media and exploiting her illness and what not shouldn't be. She has used our societies voyeuristic nature to better her childrens future. You should be pi5sed at the people all around you who pay to read about it and who cause all the fuss. Jade has raised awareness on cancer and possibly saved lives through this. She may have been annoying and caused people offense on her life but that's a different story.
