the price will be the deciding factor for the first couple of years until word gets about, loads of people saying they will be willing too pay £30 for entry which is a cheap day out but dont get me wrong but how many will pay that going into an unknown event.

if you really want this too work you need too start off cheap just enough too cover overheads, let it grow into an annual event that is put on peoples calendars for a day not too be missed then you will also have the big players in the game chasing you for a pitch so charge them as well.
this could be a real big day on the years calender for people too attend with a possible knock-out tournament building up throughout the year with the finals on the same date

Syn, I'm not sure what angle you are coming from with this post because once again it's bleating on about entry fee and the status of it being an 'unknown event' .....
First off, nobody has said it's gonna be 10 quid, and if I were a betting man, I'd guess it was gonna be considerably more than that and I'll explain why.
Of course, if you wanna Mickey Mouse event that charges a tenner, you are more than welcome mate, good luck to ya, start organising it now, and you won't get one person thru the door.
A cheap entry fee gives you an even cheaper conference.
When I went to a carp fishing conference some 30 years ago, I am pretty sure the entry fee was £12.50, now, I didn't pull that figure outa my ass for the purposes of this post, I can remember it coz I had a big argument with my wife at that time when she found out how much it was.
We had just got married and so cash was hard to find and I had just spunked it up the wall by going to some damn fishing conference .... but at the time, it was important to me.

If we wish to run a good event, then if we wanna fill the day (or weekend) with interesting subject matters then we have to do that with personalities and individuals who you guys are gonna wanna listen to.
It's no good getting Fatty Harbuckle up on stage from some stooopid ass site somewhere telling us all what he believes are the best tactics ....you get what I mean I hope.

If you want the personalities to come, the people who really know this game inside and out, then do you honestly think they are gonna jump on a plane, pay their own hotel bills etc just because I have asked them to and told them UK paintball needs them ?????

These guys get a million and one offers through their in-box daily, well not millions but you understand.

Now I am sure we can arrange a ten quid conference for you but .......well, I can't even bother to finish off the end of what I was gonna write. ....

Come on guys.........I ain't earning fack all outa this, not one penny, and nor will Bully, but if you want a cheap ass conference stacked full of nobodies who wouldn't know an appropriate technique from a feckin anvil dropping on their head, then go get someone else to do it and ya know what?
They'll laugh in your face !!
You have my word we will do everything we can to keep costs down for you guys but don't expect a cheap production.

PS I ain't even gonna address the subject of it being 'unknown' because that is the most ridiculous thing I have heard of ...think about that a little and all will become clear

I think open it up to everyone - non paintballers are welcome. We need all the new blood we can get, and this sort of thing might just do the trick.....especially for the younger generation.

I've pm'd Pete with this but a good, central place to hold it would be here:

http://www.trenthamgardens.co.uk/events.html

It's two minutes from junction 15 of the M6 and has masses of outdoor and indoor space. They have events all year round so are set up for things like this.....Onsite hotel/bars restaurants and more free parking than NCP.

You could set up a couple of fields and get teams playing all weekend on one field, the other field for the public to try out the sport....charge them £12 for a couple of games with a hopper full or something.

I'd happily give up my free time to make this work.
This place looks the business, mate.

If the price for using the place were feasible, I reckon an event there would be the don. :D

im deff not saying you should do it on the cheap bud and cut corners or it will flop in its first year, but people will be a bit hesitant at first until they hear the feedback and realise they are missing out on a good day, i would like this too work as much as you :D

im not saying you should or shouldnt turn this into a profitable venue its your choice bud but as i said earlier you could use the money too help fund the promotion of paintball in the uk which is good for all of us all, me personally i wouldnt mind paying £50 for a cracking day out that also helps the awerness of paintball that is a safe enjoyable game too play

Think about it players
An event where you get to see all the latest toys
An event where you can discuss your views on your sport
An event where deals and mutually beneficial friendships can be made
Campaign was the nearest you get to a trade show in this country
But it is geared to a specific market, we can now have one for all
Paintballers from all walks get a chance to see things first hand
