In that case Ya may as well shut down the classifieds altogether as theres always gonna be some bugger ruining it for the rest of us (doing bum deals). I'm certainly not touching the classifieds at the moment for fear of a deal getting chopped halfway through.
follow the rules and you will be fine. these new rules are there to protect you the buyer and the site. if people cant follow the rules they cant sell here simple

Dont get me wrong Lump, I agree with what your trying to do and the reasons why, I just think its all a bit too swift and allot of people are gonna 'innocently' get there threads chopped because maybe they havent checked the stickys yet, I mean realistically who checks them on a regular basis?. ...theres been about 15 threads that i've seen that have been butchered tonight alone and I think its fair to say that most of them have not deliberatley ignored the rules, they just are not aware of them yet.(yes...I hear ya all saying " well they are now"). Could there not be a bit of a 'grace period' to give people the chance to catch up with these new rules instead of taking such draconian actions?

It would be a shame to start turning potential buyers and sellers away because of the new 'instability' on the classifieds.

not to try and jump on this thread, but i agree with topchef on this one, maybe listers should be made aware of changes by posting in their threads before chopping.Give them say a few hours to comply and then chop them?

the new instability ! of seeing what your buying from some one who proves who they are. yes i can see how that is a step backwards.

first line in classifieds NEW sales rules. that went up 24 hours ago. if you want to sell here you follow the rules simple, if YOU don't read the rules then you shouldn't be allowed to own the equipment your selling. this is really quite serious people. how far would you get selling on eBay with a zero feedback seller with a DM9 with no pics ?

then don't.

have the classifieds, buy at own risk etc.
Yes but self regulation hasn't worked when members are posting to the MODS asking for contact details for such and such as they have shot through.
This has occurred because people are lazy and others take advantage-simple.
MODS are not paid and why should they clear up our mess?

When I said 'instability' I meant it in the sense that we all know that realistically there are gonna be a heck of allot more threads chopped over coming weeks etc than normal, going on last few days ALLOT more. Thats deffo what I would call unstable.
I never said it was a step backwards, I agree that what your trying to do IS a step in the right direction, it just seems a bit too harsh, too fast. But thats just my opinion.

Anyway, I've said my piece and i'll leave it at that as I dont want to cause any friction. I will most certainly abide by the new rules as and when I have any need to use the classifieds as I am a regular user. Its the ones that are not that will struggle.

The difference with ebay is items are numbered as such that when paying with paypal,if item does not exist then you can claim thru paypal.Insisting on payment thru paypal is another avenue to explore?

I appreciate what the mods do( even more as they don't get paid), but i for one wouldn't ask a mod to sort out any deal i was doing that went wrong.
