I can't believe that this has caused so many "what if?" posts.

This has been a long time coming - and I certainly welcome them. I've had more than a few items off here that haven't met expectations (and quite a few that have exceeded them) so all I have to say is "WELL DONE LUMPSTER!!!".

To behonest if you are a half decent trader who provides a good description and pictures currently, then do the right thing with posting items when you say you will the only differance you will notice is having to put your name and date in the picture.

If you are a half arsed seller who cannot be bothered providing pictures or bullsh!!ting about when you posted the item then yes life will become more arkward to sell on the forum.Which is not a bad thing.

i would like too see the sellers town or postcode put in the sellng post so we can collect if need be so you can check over the item before paying for it, i have never payed for anything over £50 without checking it over first,
face too face its the only way to be safe if its what they say it is you buy if not you have saved a lot of hassle and dissapointment

but what if the person offering the asking price, is someone you don't want to sell to?
dont sell  come on, you can sell to who ever you want. stupid question really
can you make this more clear in the rules then please - I have read the full thread and all I kept see in response is:

the first part is more to deal with Low Balls, the first person to offer the asking price. not 30% under asking price.
which still says you are to sell to the first person to offer the asking price.

I personally would want to sell to whoever I wanted to - even if it is someone that has offered lower then what I asked for (as I may know this person and might want to offer a discount to a friend for instance).

I do agree with providing a picture so that you can see that they actually have what they say they are selling, but allow people to sell to who they want.

common sense can go a long way..:)
If you decide or have sold to a friend, then why not put down sold or not for sale anymore;)

Yeah but that would be breaking the rules (as you are not selling to the first person offering the full asking price).

look I'm not trying to be awkward I'm just trying to clear up one of the rules. With so many threads deleted I thought it would be better to make sure I fully understand the new rules.

Thing is everything that others write on this is speculation - the only people who can sort this one out fully are the mods who came up with the new rules.

So I'm using my common sense Nitro and asking the mods to be more clear on this - rather then saying one thing in the rules and one thing elsewhere.

I must admit "first person to offer asking price" is a bit too strict. I've often 'haggled' and got things a little cheaper. I think this is the only rule that needs re-writing a touch.

I've been gazumped on a few items (which did pi55 me off) but that's life. It happens and I got over it (eventually and after a good moan ;)).
