I'm all for the fun and nostalgia element, but what your saying is you'll supply a beat up old site gun, which lets be honest, wasn't really maintained and "anything" would be an improvement over it!

How about, i dig out a splatmaster?

Right now I am saying this with a forced smile on my face.

We are using Tracer site pump guns powered by Air canisters.

I have gone and checked these markers and they have slam-fire built into them.

So, bring a pump action with slam fire if you like or if you own one. Please, just no other mods or you are defeating the whole purpose of a FUN day.

We are taking time out of our busy schedule to repair / restore and chrono all of these pump guns to provide you with a new set of events to come and enjoy.

The message we are trying to get through here is to not bring something with some kind of auto fire, or system whereby you don't have to 'pump-to-load' to fire your next shot. That would be definately unfair to everyone and totally against the spirit of the day.

If you feel that allowing everyone to be be on the same level is somehow disadvantageous to yourselves ... then don't come.

I am going to simply ignore the previous comments and once again put them down to bad posting on my part and slight ignorance of the whole 'perceived' pump scene. I don't think I could be fairer than that really.

If you want a pump day each month ... here's your oppourtunity. We are willing to provide one, with some very simple basic requirements requiring fairness towards others. Please don't whine about it, or the next time we post, it won't be with a smiley face.

For sure, we appreciate your efforts. I just don't want to see any regulation on the influx of pump players in the UK, we already have enough barriers preventing newer players from starting.
Unfortunately the trend in current tournament equipment is towards newer and shinier gear, so I would imagine that non-stock pumps could only be healthy for the pump scene in the UK.

I hope you understand/agree.

Please don't take any remarks from myself as being from some awkward argumentative internet twonk, as i was only trying to establish whether bring our own guns was worth it as we wouldn't be allowed to use them.
I have regularly marshalled at many different sites and know the "high" standard of maintenance that their markers received. I'm not suggesting anything about your markers, just remarking on my experiences.
The crux of the matter is how far do you go to make a level field. I have an old cocker, built out of bits of shrapnel, but it's still "one pump, one shot". I'm in no way suggesting that my gun is going to out perform yours (if it still works), but merely that it has potential too, and therefore may not be eligible?

I highly commend the initiative that you are taking to get these potential events up and running. Paintball itself is in a mess, and to put the laughing fun element back into the day would be great. Assuming all goes well i will be there but just in case anything goes wrong and i don't make it then i wish you and your staff well.

Bring your piece of shrapnel down with you. If it's as disasterous as you make out, we'd love to see it in use ... as you say it's pump action ... so really there should not be any problem.

If it turns out you have hidden a DM09 within the workings, then we'll still be able to offer the use of one of the restored markers.

At the end of the day .. we want a good few (ok .. alot!) of clean fun games with no chance for players to complain about the oppositions hardware or conduct.

I agree with you in that it would be super to have pretty much no restrictions on pumps and bring around some kind of revival ... but how far can you modify a pump until it becomes pretty much a semi, thus kinda of ruining the whole pump idea ? - Rhetorical question I guess btw

In order to see how far we can infact open up 'our' pump games, I think we need a starting block, so to speak. Our idea of a starting block ... is to keep things fairly lo-tech on our first games and concentrate on the 'pooz'n'giggles' element, hence the offer to loan out all our original site markers from yesterwhen !

From there we can build with the players input and mass consent.

We much prefer woking with people than against them ... we just need a common ground to start from and improve on.

At the very end of the day .. we are inviting all types of players, new, young, old and over the hill just to come and experience the fun of pump gun play. If it's not your cup of tea, or your idea of fun is to drill someone till they squeal, or if you plain old don't like us ... there's other choices .. I guess.

Glad a compromise has been reached on 'BYO pumps'

I started my paintball on pumps in the late 80's, and keen to see them make a comeback on the UK scene. Maybe it'll bring a bit of skill and fun back to the sport. I even dug this old clunker out of the loft... 12g anyone?

Cheers Bandwagon - I plan to be there with my LAPCO Spectre pump (No0162) - it was made before it was a good idea to be able to change barrel bore sizes...one piece barrel/body - my brother helped me take a hacksaw to it when I decided that I liked playing front. (Instant 14" to 12" barrel)

Please keep your smiley face on this is just another question for your ruling or friendly debate......when it comes to weenies (hoppers) - same rules apply? - no batteries - shake and bake only? (Gravity only)

Hello there, just wanted to jump in here for a sec if you don't mind. I'm responcible for putting together a series of pump day here in Northern California. We just had our first on Jan 10th. We had 80+ show for the day.

Here we do not seperate in our Pumps days nor our Pump tournements the difference between "Stock class" and "Open class" pumps unless it is a stock class only event and there are very few of those. Stock class would be 10 round tube feed and 12 grams, everything else would fall into Open class. In our events (tournies) OSC, OSC NPPL,OSC XPSL, the stock guys rock right along with the open class. How you take away a little of the advantage of the auto trigger "Slam-fire you call it) is to limit the paint to only 40 rounds per person for 3 man events and 60 per person for 5 man .

For all rec fields and pump days though we do not even try to seperate them. We will try to even up the teams as best we can by experience level and equipment. That way not one will get butt hurt and everyone gets to play without restrictions.

As for hoppers, Electro hoppers do not make pumps shoot any faster. It just helps them more solidly.

By the way I was at CCM a couple of hours ago and Bill the owner was talking about Sterlings. Don't guess I've ever seen one. Anyone care to Pm me a pic or post one up??? About 80 to 85% of all pump markers up here are CCM (SS-25,Series-5, or S6's) or CCM up'd Cockers. The rest are mostly Phantoms
