I'm always amazed at the range of skills us ballers have at our disposal and I wanna thank all of you for posting suggestions.
I'm pretty sure, one way or the other, that frikkin sofa unit is going in that room and if it means I have to shove it thru that doorway with every ounce of my 16 stone frame, then believe me, it's going thru ....
Come to think of it, on writing that last sentence, an image of Ledz being born has just flashed thru my mind, eeeeeekkkk !!!!

Dusty: good advice mate, I just hope the fcukah ain't glued otherwise it's gonna get real messy with the 'before and after' pictures that Raff so wants to see looking about as similar as Steve Bull and Keely Watson.
Look on the bright side in that Ikea basically mass produce these things, which means they are probably quick build kits, made in a factory as opposed to hand crafted.
I tell you what though, I might have to run down close to the only Ikea in Northern Ireland during the week. If i get time, I will pop in and have a look at it, see what way the land lies.

ps as someone already said, try checking if its stapled or glued since you could try bending the glue on the frame (if it doesnt become undone :O)
BRAIN STORM: suddenly "realise" its damaged?, ask the lads who deliver it to give you a hand for a minute THEN say "be right back getting milk" and drive off for 2 hours, they will HAVE To stay and try and get it in

Once the insurance company contacts ikea its a dead cert you will get a nice cheerful old guy who can work miracles or a pretty young blonde lady who will be more then willing to fully refund you and a nice little tenner gift voucher lol

I used to work for pickfords removals.....give them a ring mate, you'll get two lads come round who wont go home untill that sofas where u want it and it wont cost fluff all right now with the credit crunch! Most of the guys there are a dab hand at a bit of diy too, so if it wont go through hole im sure if u bung em a drink they will take it apart and get it back together for you

The 'oh look it's damaged' routine ain't gonna work I'm afraid, they already know about the present situation and all they are then obliged to do (under the terms of that frikkin contract they made me sign) is replace it with another suite.
As for getting some good ole boys from Pickfords or whoever to use their undoubted skills but I'm afraid it would require Gandalf to get this bad boy in my front room.
