I'm always amazed at the range of skills us ballers have at our disposal and I wanna thank all of you for posting suggestions.
I'm pretty sure, one way or the other, that frikkin sofa unit is going in that room and if it means I have to shove it thru that doorway with every ounce of my 16 stone frame, then believe me, it's going thru ....
Come to think of it, on writing that last sentence, an image of Ledz being born has just flashed thru my mind, eeeeeekkkk !!!!

Pete, if its glued a sharp chisel in the joint and some wiggling should break the joint with limited damage. Use gorilla glue (www.axminster.co.uk) to put it back together. Also take pictures of everything thing you do before and after and then all you have to do to put it back together is go through the pictures in reverse, and you know what it should look like.
Also, im fairly sure what Ikea are saying is illegal. You can return anything in its original condition within 28 days of recieving it. Im sure thats part of your statutory rights? I could be wrong but im sure they have to.

Also, if you feel that glue may not offer a strong enough bond, it shouldn't be a problem to get some simple metal brackets and screws from the local hardware shop in order to get some extra support on the joints.
Matty - it's not in any room at the moment, they are gonna redeliver the suite next Saturday coz it got taken away but I now have to accept it back due to cr@p-ass form I signed.
