After many, many hours of milling, tinkering and breaking stuff I've finally finished a project I've been gradually working on since early this year; A Shego.
A Shego is a paintball marker that use a Shockers firing assembly, breech, vertical adapter etc (Sh..) with and Ego frame, board and trigger. (..ego)
You get the advantages of an Egos board with the LCD screen, with the smooth bolt action of the Shocker. I personally also prefer the feel of an Ego frame, compared to a Shockers.
For the solenoid you can either choose to use a Shocker humphrey or an 05/06 Ego solenoid. Both use exactly the same vents. There are advantages and disadvantages to both.
The humphrey is easier to find and generally cheaper. However you have to extract the upper board from it, find the correct connectors for the Ego board and solder them to the solenoids daughter board (see images.) On top of that, you need to mill out the insides of the Ego frame to fit the humphrey.
With the Ego noid you have to less work, just connect it and attach it with some smaller milled screws. However, they are more expensive and more fragile to higher pressures ( or so I've heard.)
That's the hardest part of creating a Shego.
When you've attach all the parts, you need to drop your dwell to the lowest possible along with the HPR pressure. Then gradually increase the pressure until the bolt starts moving. Then the dwell. Just don't over do either, you don't want to blow anything. I'm no SP tech so i don't know exactly how to set up a Shocker to max performance, that's what www.zdspb.com is for.
Once the bolt is releasing air and can shoot a ball, you may be finished. I'd bet money that something will need tinkering with. With me, I've had to raise the height of the board with a penny (no joke, see the images) so the boards opto switch can be activated by the trigger (which had also been milled.) Previous to this, the gun would only shoot when tilted clockwise (gangster style)
After all that, I'm glad i did it. I'll update this thread with the mass etc later.
Cheers.
