Hi Guys,

Im looking to start getting my own gear together to go to a couple of walk on days with the view of getting involved in some rookie tournaments in the new year,

What do I need/What do you recommend I get to get me started?

Im not sure how much I want to spend so just say what you would get if you where to buy a friend an entry level rig, just a few ideas of the equipment needed and the best place to buy to get started (More so I can get a good idea of prices out there),

Thanks in advance,

Prostanc3.

The New PMR's and SLG UL look very good, and seem like reliable guns ceicj :p

Well the first thing i would get would be a mask!, protect those eyes, cos they ain't ever growning back once u lost them.
Padding! get some decent arm pads and knee pads, if you don't your going to hurt alot more in your old age without these :D
Battle Pack for around £20 for a decent one.
140 ball Pots - not alot of people selling these atm, I have some if you want to buy some off me, but best thing to do is to buy a bulk of about 5-6 for £10ish, u'll have to shop around, or better still, go to an event! they'll do bargin deals on these bad boys.
Hopper (halos, reloader-b's, torques) all for around £50 on here
Get a cheap second hand gun off here, in fact i saw a smart parts vibe been sold for about £70 if not cheaper my impulse_raider! WHAT AN INCREDABLE BARGIN! :p
You'll need a air tank for around £80 (get the fibre wrapped ones, there lighter and you'll never regret buying it a year down the line)

All the above would be in order of what i believe you should get I believe.

What kind of budget do you have in mind prostanc3? alltogether for everything?
I'v got an Ion or smart parts shocker NXT with spares and barrel sock with tank, hopper, battle pack, pots, thermal goggles, everything you need to play for sale if your intrested :p

The guy is just starting out and wants to do a few walkons, getting the latest spangley mask and hopper from dye is probably not the best route at this early stage.

My advice check the classifieds on here and pick up some used gear, then spend the money you saved on playing.

ceicj, im supprised you bum dye with your eclipse avatar :p

I Personnaly wouldn't get the i4's, they don't cover the bottom part of your chin and leave alot of your side neck exposed. They are however very comfy and easy to disassemble, but not worth the price tag of £65 + P&P - get soemthing like V-Force advantage pros if you wanted something new, there dirt cheap and great quality for the price.

Invert Mini's are very good guns for that price, i'v had one and was the most fun thing i'v ever remembered shooting with, maked me laugh and giggle every time i won with one :p

If you want to find decent websites - go to the site supporers section on the main forum page, I would reccomend ringing up BZ paintball, LIPS, Planet Eclipse (if you'v really got the monies!) to see what kit deals they could get for you. Ring them, else you'll be missing out on offers they ain't advertising on their websites :)

yeh but hes starting out and with the credit crunch paintball is a very expensive sport but if you get all the best stuff at the beginner stage then he will save money whereas if he goes up in stages ,begginner, moderate, pro then he will overall spend a lot more money imo
