In all honesty, you don't need to shell for anything really.

When I first played I borrowed gear, I'm sure someone can lend him a gun once or twice during the day so he can try it.

Just an idea.

shell out money

why dont you get him paper round or job and say for every bit he earns for his gear you will match it, that way you half your costs !:)

i agree that standing someone in the garden and shooting them is sooooo different to getting shot whilst playing. it hurts a hell of a lot more when standing still and not being able to fight back, take him to a local site for a morning session or something, that way it doesnt cost the earth and he gets 6 or so games in. no point buying all the gear and it not getting used, i'd suggest buying him some goggles whether second hand or new before you go. nothing worse than punter site goggles :D

In my opinion (as a father as well as a baller;)) I dont think it will benefit you or your boy in anyway by taking him out the back 'n' blastin a few into him:eek:

He will have time to think about it etc and as such get nervous (Nervous = hurting more IMO)...likewise you may well feel bad about it aswell (I know I would if I shot my boy;))
I would suggest you entice him into a punter day out and 'mask' that as a good idea if thats what it takes, as opposed to trying to make him beleive that 'going out back' for a bit whilst you pop a few balls into him will give him a insight into playing ball and how it 'doesnt hurt so much'.

As Evo says, and you probably know, you tend not to notice the hits AS much when your in game as your focusing on other things.
Show him a few dvds etc, let him dry fire a gat, do whatever it takes apart from shooting him in a neutral enviroment as he will just be thinking about the pain both BEFORE and AFTER. Wherebye if its in game, he wont have a clue prior to the hits and will forget about it much easier as there will be other stuff going on until the drive home:)

If hes still as 'pumped' about it on the drive back home THEN think about the next step of getting him some kit.

Just my opinion.

Everyone has their own suggestions, but tbh, if its hurts more in the garden its gunna stop him doing the naughty stuff in the garden and he is gunna love being hit with adrenaline flowing and not feeling a thing!

But ye I regret shooting my brother... even though I did it in the nicest way.... My bro agreed to come with me so it didnt end badly, but ye maybe a punter day would be better.... and let him take ur gun and you borrow a mask and follow him round and take a few bullets for your poor son!
