You are making a mistake in assuming Sup' Air equates to tournament paintball, when DF make it available on their sites, it's because it provides their customers with another playing option, that's all, it is not a precursor to playing tourneys.

But I doubt I would describe their product as 'infantile' ...you may not like it but with a bank balance like Ivan's got, I would tend to resist calling it infantile somehow
Its been covered but what incentive is there for site owners/operators to encourage the transition when the player will then want to pay something like 1/5th to 1/3rd for the paint they shoot. Many 'Punter' sites spawn teams, from their Marshals etc. but only a sote operator who is truly hooked on the Sup'Air format of paintball would activly encourage punters to take up tournament paintball. The transition from site to tournament is a deep gorge with a shakey rope bridge.
I here the logic behind this but, paint is one of the few things that an organiser, or the traders at an event can make money from, that few quid per box keeps food on the table and is the biggest part of their turnover at events. To reduce the ammount of paint consumed would ultimatly either push up the entry fee or disuade traders from attending events, in a lot of cases.
