n00b; There's so many sites in the South... how to find a good one?

Hi all,

I'm new to paintball and looking to go on an all-day session with some friends later on this month. We had planned to go to Delta Force Romsey, but heard quite a few bad things about it... so instead I spent all of Sat and Sun looking-up sites on google, yell and whatnot.

OMG there's so many in the Hants/Dorset area!!! And no one seems to agree on which are good. Some people hate the DF sites, some people hate the Skirmish sites and some people love them all. Do you guys have any thoughts? There's a LOT to choose from.

We're simply looking for something that's professionally run where we can ease into it and have a great day out. Good marshalls, well-kept equipment and quality props are key... definitely no Keith Chegwin fun castles ;-)

bad things about delta force!
like what.

before i joind a team i used to play at delta force every single month and i loved it.
the game zones were ace the food was ace the marshalling was great and the only bad thing i can think of was once when i baught a vegy bbq ticket and i went to the food place and they hadnt cooked any vegy burgers.
so they said it would be a few minutes and i was stood there for almost 25mins and the rest of my team/group went out to their next game

The main criticisms I've heard are unprofessional marshals and dodgy pricing. But other people swear by them. Did you play at the Romsey branch? Perhaps they very from site to site?

naa i played at the one in wakefield/leeds.
but that site is great so i assume the other delta force site would be too.
but i may be wrong.

and as for the marshalling,
when i used to play there many of the marshals played for teams so obviously they had experience.
but i havnt been for over a year so it may have changed.

Delta Force and skirmish sites very from site to site some are awesome others not so! but you'll find this with any chain. I find the local Skirmish excellent and Delta Force not so but i have been to Some Delta Force that are better then my local Skirmish. Saying that i've been to independent sites that are better then both combined. The only thing you can really do is play a field and see how it goes if you don't like it try somewhere else just don't let it put you off ballin as a past time.
