Don't care

Wear them if you want to it doesn't realy matter. It may save a few bounces but I don't see th problem with that. If bounces is the problem then jerseys should be tight like rugby and arm pads shouldn't be allowed as my eclipse ones have kept me alive so many times.

Keep jerseys baggy, allow three bits of headgear and where bounce vests if you want. I would but there too hot.

the wording of the question is a little off maybe.....

perhaps "Should Body Protection be ALLOWED at Tournaments" would be better.

the wording of the poll suggests that if the answer was to be yes, then it would be a case of having to wear them with no choice in the matter.

or perhaps that is what is meant......

(sorry just being pedantic, but that's the teacher in me...)

Seriously, if a body vest gives you an advantage, just get closer and shoot them in the face.

I dont see the issue. If you arent good enough to adapt and win a game due to a body vest, then the issue of body vests really doesnt matter or indeed won't make a difference. All I see when I play is masks, hands, barrels, hoppers and packs. Rarely do I get the gift of someone face on to me, out in the open.

Join me in pedant's corner - I thought the same thing. Could the wording of the poll be changed as per r_i_b's post?

I am not against players using protection (it was drummed into me in the 80's!) but it should have a hard surface so the ones that do wear it do not gain any advantage over non wearers.

Russ
So players that want to protect themselves should DISADVANTAGE themselves in order to do so...

Come on... think about it.

It was not long ago that players who wore Dye shirts was said to have a unfair advantage because they had a thin piece of foam sewn into the shirt that helped with the detailing.
At tournaments the players should be insisting on good quality paint and there would be no need for any additional protection.
Also a small reduction in fps across the board to 280 would help reduce impact energy if that is a concern.

Yes and they also proved that the foam offered no real advantage which is the reason why every tournament Jersey has some type of padding in it now.
A drop in FPS would result in less paint breakage and therefore lead to more bouncers.

If you want to increase the elimination rate and the probability of being eliminated when you are hit the first time, then you need to increase the FPS not decrease it!

As for the quality of the paint then I agree but it is not down to the players!

It is the responsibility of the event organisers or governing bodies to make sure that paint used at the event is suitable and safe and that is true for the quality of the playing surface too. I have seen numerous instances of players shredding their knees on broken pegs and refuse on some fields. Knee pads.... yes please....or would you prefer to ban them as they can...sometimes...cause a ball to bounce...?
