i think its funny when people ask you 'where you got all those marks' as it generates a conversation or two! It's helped as an ice breaker with the young ladies in the sauna at the gym too a quick little wince and a "ouch, he got me good" and they cant resist but to ask...

its the only reason i play paintball!

thnk you'll find that head gear is not allowed to reach as far down as your shoulder blades, let alone you toes

9. Clothing​

9.01 Each player may only wear two layers of clothing​

1 unless the temperature has been
officially announced to be below 10°C in which case three layers will be allowed. This
clothing shall consist of one pair of underpants (or, additionally, a pair of long
underpants with the lower temperature) and one (or two with the lower temperature)
short-sleeve or long-sleeve undershirt(s).
Players must wear full pants, not shorts and long sleeve jerseys as outer layer.
9.02 Player uniforms may not contain orange color. Player uniforms containing white must
be reasonable clean, if there is too much staining, a ref can demand to change this part
of the uniform.
9.03 Players clothing including pants and jersey must be free from tears and rips, must fit
well and cannot be oversized. Players may not wear pants or jerseys that are made out
of highly absorbent material, such as felt or fleece, or of a highly padded or slick
nature, such as nylon or rubber.​

9.04 Quilting is two layers of clothing stitched over


I would not be supprised if they had changed the rule without telling any of the players but I am sure you are wrong.

So last year it was 15 bps and no vest! this year it is 12 bps and wear what they like so they feel safe !!!

end of the day i'll just have to shoot all you softies with vests in the head, hopper, gun and booty (booty is optional, but it leaves nice bruises)

for the premier european paintball series, that sounds just a tad silly

I wear an Empire groundpounder vest for one reason - to reduce the pain of being shot. Other players I know wear them for exactly the same reason - nothing to do with some nefarious scheme to steal games from right-minded-macho-players.

Your insinuation that only people who happen to support your theory are telling the truth is somewhat narrow minded.



Given the quick take up of them, it seems obvious that the demand has always been there, but there haven't been any suitable products on the market until now. Personally I'd have snapped one of these up back in my woodland days.

I would happily wear a 'hard' version of the groundpounder, provided it was as comfy, breathable, provided the same amount of protection and still allowed easy movement.

Ok you and a small few have bought into the hype and I am also sure that you have never had a bouncer or two.
Empire also had some shirts out a few years ago that had foam all down the forearm and I don't think a player got shot there while they was allowed to use them but again protection was the key word used in the marketing.
I have just been on ebay and tried to find a "Michelin man" suit because I fancy a sup air come back but I would only use it for protection honest!

You want to support there use and thats fine, they are not against the rules so why not.
But I have seen lots of games where a player who was wearing one of those types of vests stayed in the game after they had been hit a ended up with a bouncer and some of those players contributed greatly in their teams victory.

The hard armour version is easily made, if they can be bothered.
