yep. I think rulebook needs to decide. Remember when clear hoppers were outlawed? It would be the same as that. I'd probably be up for it. thing with bouncers is even the player shooting them doesn't always know when they occur, as you dont see the splat! It could result in a lot more shootings!

I've yet to see evidence to support either of your points above, which basically boil down to alleging that:

a) players only wear them to promote bounces
b) by wearing them, players spoil the game

You seem to be stating those points as facts, when they are merely your personal opinion.
Well lets first agree that if the first point is proved it also negates the second point!
If you look at the posters who are being honest and there is a lot of them it is obvious that players do wear the vests to obtain the advantage they offer, and has very little to do with reducing pain, in fact that part is just a bonus for the wearer.
So in this case I am confident my personal opinion is fact..... :)

So you are not against the item as such? You are against what it is called?

i.e... If it were called the "Bounce-o-Matic Deflector-Vest" and they were tournament legal, there would be no problem...?

On the same argument the jt team pants dynasty used so heavily should also be banned then, they didn't have knee pads they had full on knee to ankle bounce mats strapped to them.

I think what Russ is against, is how they promote bounces, and designed so that they do. From what I've read of this thread, I'm sure that a different sort of protection (ie. one that doesn't promote bounce, easily achieved by using "non-bouncy" materials) would be more favourable in many people's eyes.

Whatever they are called, it will still do the same thing.

its a difficult one, but all paint will break on them including hard as hell site paint. i will agree it will add a bounce factor, how much by is i am not certain. In my opinion its not as high as some think.

Just becuase you are wearing one doesnt mean it will bounce, though it probably will help. I do wear one when ever i play, ref, or marshal at a site and why, i get shot at normally 4+ days a week upto 7.

To be honest when you get bruise after bruise in the same place they do start to hurt more. And yes i know the pain isnt that high but they can hurt, i even know my bro popped cartlidge in his ribs when shot without one one. Would it if stopped it who knows. Could it of helped to reduce the chance, Probably Yes.

I dont care if i get called a girl but im going to carry on wearing one till they are outlawed. For 2 reasons, to reduce pain and give me a slight advantage when i play.

No they wouldnt be luke... if it was a hard protection type material 1 and many others wouldnt buy it... No need, didnt wear one before they came into the market it...

Fact is that they do promote bouncer, and its tourament legal... Gives you an extra edge to someone that doesnt have one...

But its not exaclty spoiling the game now is it... Are the Pro's compaining or are we seeing games where no-one is being a burst on there chest loads of times? i havent... and in tourament for explan 90% of the shots at long range anyway are not on the chest...

If people have a problem with them then they should stop Jersey and Trousers padding... No reall need for them apart from bouncers as people wear arm and leg pads already
