Anyone know anything about 360's?

I know someone does on here but I cant remember who.
Anyway, I'm having some odd probs as of late. Things like a white screen which says "to play this disc, put it in an Xbox 360 console" and a lot of the "This disc is unreadable blah blah blah" half way through a game. I know it's readable as it's utterly frigging brand new. To be honest, my Xbox started to get glitchy when COD4 came out.

Anyone any ideas before I have to resort to calling Microsoft?

I think this is a precursor to you getting the red ring of death.

Though thats from personal experience as mine did the same before snuffing it

same here - how old is your xbox, where did you get it from?

i conned comet in to replacing mine , and got them to give me a new harddrive, controller and game

Last time I got the ring, it came out of the blue with no warning. Ah well. If it does, back to Mordor it goes....

sometimes the ring can be due to the power lead or scart lead not being in correctly, or due to over heating.

1....How old is the X Box ?
2....Has it been 'hammered' ie used alot ?


3....Have you ever had an Error 74, come up on screen ?


and finally, does the dvd rom drive make lots of noise * i know the 360 is a noisy bugger anyway, but the drive can make a noise like its struggling sometimes*


If the answer to these questions is YES, then its about to RED RING, can be fixed, depends if the 360 is still in warranty or not.
Also, has the console been 'flashed' ?

Cheers mate... Some answers for you

About a year, give or take....
Not particularly hammered....
No error 74
And no noise that I've noticed...
And not flashed.

If it rings, it rings, I'll just send it back, my Mrs is a manager at Comet, I'll just get a new one.....
