AAArrggh.. Unmountable boot volume!

My laptop has just thrown a fit.

While i was watching tv, my laptop has just blue screened (it was just sat there doing nothing, only msn, and one firefox window open)

Now its saying when i try to boot- Unmountable boot volume.

I'm trying to recover with the Windows CD, but it wont let me get to the dos boot menu thing (pressing R on windows load screen)

Is it a whipe and start again? or am i doing something wrong?

Please help!

Has that with my old pc and it was a wipe and rebuild job

Can i boot from the CD and just use the recovery mode on that?

yes i can, is the answer to that, but it doesnt like/accept the chkdsk/r command...

What laptop is it? most perinstalled have a "secret" partion wich can be restored form.

O yeah is it vista?

it was XP, and a dell d505. I aint a comp noob btw.

Just used MHDD to check the hard drive, it has aload of unrecoverable bad sectors. No idea how this has happened, fecking computers, they can be stupid at times.
