Just posting to keep you all up to speed with developments.

I have spoken to Russ re this, and he has been very helpful - he is going to supply the tea for the event FOC. :D

Seriously though, he has given me a lot of useful information, and props to Wongo and Stan for their input & assistance also.

I am going to get a brief together to get the project on its feet, and then submit that to the Council and we will go from there.

I will keep you all updated with progress.

:)

It's not a problem just another cost factor and something else that has to be considered because when you think about it, yes it does answer the concerns re balls going over the netting but it will effect game play.
Some buggers will shoot at the roof so it falls on the opposition.

Hah, yes i suppose so indeed. i had actually thought about that, then dismissed it immediatly thinking what sort of idiot would be at that!!

I've only been to blackpool once or twice when I was little, and the best bit was leaving, was there paintball I would definately go back! :p ;) :D (joke!)

I think it'd a great way of bringing some non-drunk tourism into the place (well, while the paintball's on at least!!).

Good luck with it! If it takes off i'll be there!

HB dont have blowers for getting sand out of your markers any more cause it is turf.

to play on a beach i think it would need some thing like the MS to do so they could get the turf.

you dont want to run some half arsed tournament cause it will do more harm than good.

I am sure that there is some thing in the pipe like already some thing to do with Blackpool football club but not 100% sure.

Some thing has also been tried at brighton beach as well but i think it got turned down.

That would be more of a place to have it because they have massive event on all the time like the fatboy silm concert thy do there.

Just have to watch your arse.

Thanks for the advice, Markie.

I have asked Blackpool Council where they would prefer to hold the event, and will post up as soon as I have a reply from them.

I would like you to have a trade stand there and DJ the event if possible - would you be interested?

:)

lol i never thought of the tide :X perhaps paintball in scuba gear? keeping the markers working would be a problem mind :X i think just to say youve played such an event would draw soooo many none supair teams and perhaps teams which arent as dedicated as some, possibly even teams like disruption, nexus and shock (depending on their prior commitments)

*just thinking out loud, obviously i cant speak for none of those teams. would be nice though :)

Exactly...

Tides at blackpool rise to a level of around 7 to 8 metres even in the summer months.
Setting up fields, and trades stand, taking them down is going to take some considerable time, and what you have in between, have to be very fast games:D

You are absolutely right!

The "tide problem" was the first thing that occurred to me when I had the idea on Sunday, watching my son trundle off to a large pool of water on the beach.

The beach may not be suitable to play on, and the Council will come back to me re this.

However, if we can get as close to the beach as possible - on the promenade or on the pier - it will be all good.

:)
