Air Training should it be a prerequisite before you are allowed to self fill.

Air gun I think most people in paintball would rather stay clear the association with a air gun full stop, when it comes to paintball.

And within the next 2 weeks will have a blast box which you will place your bottle down into after connecting the fill line and then you can leave it there and then fill a few feet away
This in my opinion will be the safest option,

I completely agree that training is a must, and we should all know the safe ways to fill a bottle,

But you will always get the guys that forget the training, choose to ignore cos they've been filling for years, or just don't pay attention at the course.

How many times have you been to a training course and thought "this is crsp, I know what I'm doing already"?

While I definately agree that training is a must we can't rule out the fact that some people will not follow what they've been told and simply do it their own way.

Depending how big the blast box is you might have to unscrew your bottle from your marker to put it in the box but this is a small price to pay for safe filling and if the worst does happen again the damage should be limited.

No doubt I've upset some people with this post cos you can't please everyone!!!!!

The course and contents are already in use, we would just have to train up some other trainers to pass the information on.

Russ
is this course something on paper which could be read up? obviously logistically i am not going to be at the next local tourney wherever it happens to be.......

for personal use i might add, not for training.

You could possibly get the information that is handed out on the course but more than 60% of relevant instruction comes via the trainer, well it did in my case.

I did have an idea about filming the course and shoving it on You Tube. But after thinking about it perhaps it is not the best medium, face to face is the best way.

So what happens with under 18 year olds who play paintball, if you have to be 18 to complete the course, and you have to have completed the course to fill bottles?
