They probably renamed the team to allow players to be moved up. Actually, the interesting point is: Why are Copenhagen Ducks 2 on the list anyways? Seems they already took the spot of the 2007 Div1 winning team, the Electrons, because they are missing on the list.

Erhm - none of the top-6 teams in div. 1 are there as they are moving up to SPL, however you will find the bottom-6 of SPL there ! ;)

I´m actually wondering if they got to pay for that name change? As there is now a "licence" for div. 1 teams as well, I will bet the rules of SPL/CPL concerning that will now apply for div. 1 teams also?

My bad, forgot about that, it's still early... :) Question remains: If Ugly Ducklings Too are now named Copenhagen Ducks 2, why do they get a Div1 licence? As far as I can see, Ugly Ducklings Too placed 57th in Div1.

Aaaargh - read my earlier reply ! ;)

It is NOT Ugly Ducklings TOO (they only played 1 event last year) it is Underdogs who has been renamed/merged with Copenhagen Ducks, at least that´s my guess as they are ranked as Underdogs .

Awwwh, I should stop posting in topics which I'm actually not concerned with... ;)

One final thing: I'm pretty sure Div1 teams now will have to commit to all five events, because you wouldn't like your prelim opponents not showing up, if you shell out 7000+ Euros for the licence... There's also a hefty fine in the M7 rulebook for a team which doesn't show up. Happened only once since the start of M7, as far as I know.

as i understand ALL new teams that are succesful to get a spot in div 1 have to pay at least a transfer fee to millennium and all 5 events in advance, and if they have to buy a spot from a team not playing this year they can put their value on top of the transfer fee too.
so potentialy a new team will pay a minimum £7500.00 before their 1st event  plus the old teams value on their spot !!

Aren't those figures in Euros jus? Makes it a bit better (still steep).
