I know that if you import things from the US you can get stung by import taxes, but i was wandering if the same applies if you dont buy it from a shop, i.e I get someone i know in america to buy it and send me it?

hurts when you have to go to the post office to pick up your order from RM and you have to fork out £189 in customs charges so be very wary just by it in the uk. you wont save any money. believe me

Its about luck mate.

I have had stuff sent and never been charged for it, and then have had other things and they have stung me for it.

If you can buy it in the UK buy it from there because you have the chance to return it as well.

Christ, your not a Man City supporter! I'm Seeing the Hammers play them in a few days in the F.A. cup, should be good.

Same here

I can go for months sometimes without getting caught for duty. The most I ever got hit for was about £35 on an X-Valve for the Mag, but as there was zero option in the UK/Europe I had to buy from AGD in the states. A lot of the bit's I need aren't stocked by UK dealers (Classic guns & Timmy parts for example), so with current exchange rate at $2 = £1 it's a no brainer

I'm still quids in on the majority of the stuff I import :D
