importing stuff

Sajj101

I’m a MAGaholic.
I had a two packages come in on the same day last week, one from Luke’s Customs worth a $100 and got stung £25 including handling fees.
The other package was from The MagSmith $600 worth of kit fully itemised paperwork stuck on the front of the package and wasn’t charged a penny.
I guess it all boils down to weather the postman can be bothered with the extra paperwork.
From past experience you get away with it nine times out of ten.
And I wouldn’t bother asking for the goodies to be marked as a gift. Customs got wise to that a couple of years ago and is no longer accepted.

The first thing they will look for is an Invoice or Packing note on or in the package.

If it is less obvious what it is, you have a better chance of being charged less; or so theory says...

If you are getting a relative to purchase something and sent it on, get them to wrap it up nicely and fax over any invoices/packing notes they will have originally received.

There is no 'fool proof' way to avoid charges, it's hit and miss as already said; now support us UK retailers!

:)

Yes I whole heartedly believe in supporting the UK retailers!
But you just can’t get custom Mag part in the U.K.

If you can find me a UK retailer that carries the same line as the MagSmith or the TunaMan then I’ll shop there.

I own about 20 markers if it comes anything other than my Mags I go to Planet or LiPS every time.
